Dear Parents and Students,

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Silver Sands Middle School.

My name is Ms. Mongelli and I will be your child’s reading teacher. It is going to be a great year and I am looking forward to working with you and your child this year.

Here are a few key items for you and your child to review as we begin our new year.

Students are expected to adhere to all performance and behavior expectations while at school; as well as participating in class and following all classroom rules to ensure academic success. Everyone will arrive to class on time and prepared to work. Respectful and cooperative attitudes will be maintained at all times in the classroom. All student work that is submitted for a grading should be neat and legible; either typed or on a piece of clean loose leaf paper with no fringe on the border. Following School Board Bring Your Own Technology policies electronic device use in class will only be when it enhances the learning experience for academic achievement. The classroom will be kept orderly and clean; including keeping personal grooming out of the classroom. Throughout the year students will be asked to: complete work for reading in and outside of class; review class notes; study vocabulary words and strategies; and complete all missed assignments when they are absent according to Silver Sands Middle School Grading Policies.

Instructional and classroom information will be available on my class webpage at: .

Gradebook Grading System

Gradebook will be used. Gradebook allows students and parents to view up-to-date grades, assignments and attendance directly from the teacher's gradebook 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any computer with an Internet connection.
