JOB DESCRIPTIONVICE PRESIDENT OF SALESSALES DIVISIONScopeFunctions as a strategic business leader of the Convention Sales Department and is responsible for the overall sales efforts and operations of the Convention Sales Team. The position has overall responsibility of teaming with the Sr. Vice President/Chief Sales Officer for achieving overall guestroom night goals, client, member and associate satisfaction, and to increase Dallas visibility through industry involvement. Prime are of focus is managing the Citywide Sales Team. As a member of the leadership team, assists in developing and implementing strategies that deliver return on investment in convention sales.Primary Responsibilities and DutiesResponsible for Citywide Teams’ overall production in order to meet VisitDallas goals.Work with Sales Leadership team to develop and implement successful sales strategies. Execute against these sales strategies and drive team results.Facilitate and conduct bi-weekly sales meetings.Administrative management of sales team to include: reviews of direct reports, expense report approval, daily sales activities (reports, call tracking, sites, training, etc.)Working with Sr. Vice President/Chief Sales Officer to establish budget and review procedures to include measurements, forecasting, and accountability for sales team.Exhibit expertise of Dallas as a convention destination.Exhibit expertise of the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas and its policies in order to provide assistance/guidance to sales team.Work within, enforce, and enhance the guidelines of the VisitDallas/Booking Policy.Develop team building and motivational activities to enhance sales team performance.Customer Development: identify and strategize key clients to pursue for Dallas.Assist/Aide sales managers in strategizing and closing business for city of Dallas. Act as a problem-solving source for sales team, clients, and members.Work with Sr. Vice President/Chief Sales Officer and Sales Team to develop sales goals.Facilitate quarterly DOS Meetings with the Big 8 Hotels.Lead on special initiatives as assigned.Welcome presentations on VIP groups as requested by clients and leadership.Manage KBHCCD weekly business review meetings.Manage bi-weekly sales division meeting.Manage bi-weekly citywide team meeting.Attend industry shows around the country throughout the year to support sales strategy.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesCitywide Sales TeamReports ToThis position reports directly to Sr. Vice President/Chief Sales Officer.Skills/Education/ExperienceIndustry involvement in order to increase VisitDallas Visibility – (This position should participate in identified organizations as an active member.)Network and build relationships with members, clients, and associatesCreate and maintain a positive working environmentEquivalent Education, High School Education, College Degree preferred.At least five to seven years’ sales leadership experience in the hospitality community with a proven track record in year over year performance.Detail oriented, innovative, and proactive.
