Title:Director of Asia OperationsDepartment(s):OperationsReports to:Vice President of Operations Job summary:As Director of Asia operations, you are responsible for managing the communication and processes of product development, quality assurance, production, and logistics for Summer Classics (SC), Parker James, and Summer Classics special accounts. Other responsibilities include the management of SC liaisons and the relationships between all current and future suppliers and sub suppliers of Summer Classics product. You will be responsible to establish and/or adjust procedures and workflow to improve the efficiency and effective success of the operation in order to meet Summer Classics expectations. Problem Solving, detailed reporting, and consistent internal communication are necessary to accomplish set responsibilities.Qualifications:College Educated2-5 years Industry experienceWilling to travel throughout Asia on a consistent basisDemonstration of leadership in previous positionsStrong problem solving skillsExperience managing quality assurance and manufacturing processesDesirable to be bilingual in English/ MandarinDirector of Asia Operations will perform the following functions: Management:Manage all relationships with suppliers and sub-suppliersManage Quality Assurance with all suppliersMaintaining quality standards and documentation with all suppliers.Manage the Product Development cycle with all suppliers.Beginning with product sampling, resulting with a deliverable product.Manage Production Process and planning with suppliers and SC America.Personal managementLiving arrangementsTravel schedulesExpensesManaging liaisons in North and South China.Living arrangementsTravel schedulesExpenses / SalaryLiaison communication and reporting.Manage the development of product / process education and knowledge for all SC liaisonsKeep all liaisons current on all Summer Classics topicsEnsure that all liaisons are reporting accurate information on a daily basis in theSC standardized format.Ensure that all liaisons are effectively communicating with suppliersRelaying all communication from the supplier to Summer Classics America and vice versa.Work with liaisons on the development of QC guidelines, product specification sheets, and related communication to improve quality between Asia Operations and Summer Classics domesticEnsure that all quality issues are reported by SC in the standard QA Alert documentation and addressed by documenting the issue using the standardized CAR report.Travel:Responsible for weekly travel to each supplier as needed. Travel locations are not limited to but include:China: Shunde, Heshan, Dalian, Pan Yu, Dong GuanIndonesia: Surabaya, JeparaThailand: BangkokHandle all travel planning for one self and any SC employee traveling in Asia, including agendas, transit, and lodging.Reporting:Send detailed weekly report summarizing tasks accomplished per day to SC President, VP of Operations, and CFO.Send detailed factory reports summarizing product development, Quality Assurance, Production, and any open issues post factory visit.Bi-weekly meetings via Skype or phone call with VP of Operations during American working hours.Meetings as needed with SC America during American working hours.Sourcing:Develop relationships with new furniture manufacturing facilities.Search for, evaluate, and test new supplier abilities.Develop relationships with new sub-suppliers (resin, paint, and powder suppliers)Search for, evaluate, and test new sub-supplier abilities.Supplier Communication:Work with all suppliers to solve any and all problems associated with Summer Classics product and production.Work with current sub-suppliers on problems solving when issues arise.Resolve any finish issues with Summer Classics suppliers and sup suppliers.Work with SC America and suppliers to manage the product development cycleClearly document quality specificationsQC GuidelinesProduct Specification sheetsProduction trackingWork with suppliers and SC America to set priorities in production based on Summer Classics needs. Track production to ensure all requests are fulfilled.Quality:Clearly set quality specifications and ensure that Summer Classics suppliers follow the specified quality standards.QC GuidelinesProduct Specification sheetsDevelop all packaging specifications for all producto Ensure that all product is being packaged based on the approved specifications.Ensure all QC Guidelines, Product Specification Sheets, and sub supplier warranties are maintained and current.Manage all quality alerts and communication relating to quality issues between suppliers and SC domesticManaging Corrective Action Reports (CAR)o Ensure that all quality issues are reported and documented correctly.Monitor Factory QC Labs (LFTE)o Monitor lab testing of QUVA testing boothEnsure that all material testing samples are documented and sent to SC Americatesting lab for proper testing.Ensure all approved mechanisms, hardware, hangtags, Labels, Assembly instructions, Logos, are current and being applied to all products as specified by Summer Classics.Write Summer Classics and Summer Classics Contract WarrantyProduct Development:Specify and maintain all product details on all productsFrame finish (powder / Paint color) o Resin finish (resin size and color) o Technical detailsMechanisms, hardware, logos, foot glides, castings, extrusion sizes, etc.Work with SC President and design team on ordering and choosing all new designs forfuture seasons.Work with special accounts such as Restoration Hardware, Jardin de Ville, Cinmar, Thos Baker, Etc.oDevelop product, custom packaging, custom labeling, specified logistics, production time frames, etc.Evaluate product design at supplier location.Ensure all sample ship dates are met.Attend furniture markets as requested by Summer Classics. ................
