WPCS Community Relations Support Specialist

Duties and Responsibilities. You shall be employed as the Community Relations Support Specialist at Watershed Public Charter School for 32.5 hours per week (8:05 am - 3:15 pm) and report to the Principal, Academic Director and the Watershed Public Charter School's Board of Directors. Along with the Board of Directors, you understand and agree to be responsible for shaping and upholding the school's mission, goals, philosophy, and standards.

Duties include:

Facilitate school collaboration with the Community Engagement Board Committee

Mediate and support students when behavioral infractions occur Assist in the classroom setting to support a student's learning in times of crisis,

as possible Monitor hallways during class changes and class time Facilitate School Wide Community Behavior

Keep track of weekly referral and detention violations Completely monthly report for the student support team Communicate consequences to staff regarding student referrals Create interventions for students with high number of referrals Contact parents regarding student behavior

Respond to teachers and provide support related to discipline infractions Facilitate in school suspension if necessary Monitor lunchroom/ hallways Assist with dismissal daily Substitute classes if necessary Complete CPI training and deliver CPI defined protocols when necessary Assist with student reentry, as needed, after an incident or suspension

Compensation. You will be paid a salary of $27,500. from August 29, 2018 to June 15, 2019 (or when the final day of school occurs).

Pre- Employment Requirements: All persons employed by WPCS, regular and temporary, are required to be fingerprinted and have a criminal background investigation (State of Maryland, Senate Bill 315, effective October 1, 1986) completed. The fee charged for fingerprinting is $67.75 An identification card will be issued which

must be shown prior to employment. Anyone offered employment is required to provide proper identification and documentation of eligibility for employment in the US.
