|Lesson Summary: Students learn end punctuation by understanding that a sentence is a complete thought and that different sentences express different kinds of |

|thoughts. Students react to simple questions about the weather, which include sentences, questions, and exclamatory phrases. The teacher then writes various |

|sentences on the flip chart in the form of simple sentences, questions, and exclamatory phrases. The teacher then asks students to volunteer to come forward and |

|provide the right punctuation mark. In guided practice, students are asked what end punctuation sentences/questions/exclamations need. Advanced learners will |

|practice coming up with sentences and providing the appropriate punctuation mark. Struggling learners will work with the teacher to recognize ending punctuation in|

|a familiar picture book. |

|Explain to students that a sentence completes a thought. |
