Headlining News...April 21, 2019

Mother's Day & Father's Day Memorials 2019 This year the Missions team and Administrative board have designated gifts from Mothers Day and Fathers Day to support the Our Conference, Our Kids program. We heard about this IGRC program from Rev Zimmerman in our worship service on April 7th. The funds raised are to support the spiritual life programs at the 5 Children's homes and agencies the UMC has supported for many years. These programs are continuing to nurture and impact the lives of hundreds of at risk children and their families today. What better way to honor the mothers and fathers that God has placed in our lives than to pass that blessing forward. Thank you for your ongoing support.

Altruistic Club of Canton The Altruistic Club of Canton will host their annual Tea on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the First Christian Church, 215 W. Elm, Canton, IL. The event runs from 7:30 am until 10:30 am. This fundraiser is supported entirely by donations. Proceeds are used to assist Fulton County residents with medical costs primarily. Homemade baked goods will be served. Boxes of cookies are also available. Everyone is encouraged to attend. Pre-orders for boxed cookies can be made by contacting Jean Sprecher (309) 224-3153 or Debbie Stephenson (309) 338-0979.

Special Offering

Throughout the centuries, faithful followers have followed Jesus in faith and living. Christians have love for our neighbor, the sick, the poor, and the outcast and even for our enemy; a way of life that brings glory to God and brings the promise of God's heavenly kingdom.

One important way is financial support of Kingdom work. On Easter Sunday, April 21, we receive a special offering to support various Christian ministries supported within our church, in our community and around the world.

Wesley UMC Men's Group

In May, UMC Men will be cooking for some great causes here at Wesley. May 5 - We will be cooking pork chops for the Youth Mission fundraiser. May 8 - We will fire the grill back up for the LOG family night on May 8th @ 6 pm. Please plan to be there by 5 pm to help set up and cook.
