Mary O’Neill Selected as Director of

Child Development Center at Orange Education Center

(Santa Ana)—Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) has named Mary O’Neill director of the child development center at the Orange Education Center (OEC), located at 1465 North Batavia St. in Orange.

In this capacity, O’Neill directs, plans, organizes and oversees all classroom and support activities at OEC’s child development center. She selects, trains and supervises staff, teachers and volunteers who work at the center that serves some 175 children, three to four years of age. The center provides childcare services to both students and the community-at-large.

Prior to joining RSCCD, O’Neill served as a consultant for Los Angeles-Universal Preschool and led a team of reviewers conducting interviews to prepare for the launch of Proposition 10-funded preschools. Prior to that, she served as division director for Options Child Development Centers in West Covina. In addition, she worked as program manager for Options Dental Health Program securing funding for a dental health program for children, ages two to five. Previously, O’Neill was coordinator of the school age child development programs for the YWCA of Greater Los Angeles and served as director/lead teacher for UCLA’s Colina-Glen satellite child care program.

O’Neill earned bachelor’s degrees in psychology and child development from California State University, Northridge. In addition, she completed the High/Scope Educational Research Foundation Lead Teacher Training Program and holds a State of California child development program director permit.
