Greetings to all Westbrook Lodge #1784 Members

A new year starts at Westbrook Lodge #1784!

I would like to thank PER Rex Clayton for showing me the way and teaching me how to become the Exalted Ruler. Rex has been there to help me whenever I needed him ? thank you Rex! I would also like to thank all of the returning officers and trustees: Esteemed Leading Knight Ken Soudan, Trustees COB Rick Sheldon PER, Jerry Cox PER, Ray Smith and Paul Uccello PER, Secretary Rocky Gillis, Treasurer John Beatty, Chaplin Marilou Clayton, Inner Guard Laurie Davis, Tiler Bob Mancini, and Lodge Esquire Glenn Vallee PER. I would also like to welcome new officers, Esteemed Lecturing Knight Carolyn Vallee and Esteemed Loyal Knight Joe Carpio and our newest Trustee Don Harper. I'm confident that moving forward, our Lodge will be in great shape! I'd also like give a special thanks to the officers who will be leaving us: Five Year Trustee Dave Malazzi and PER PDD Alex Coriaty, who is continuing to move up in the field of law enforcement. Congratulations to Phil Sengle for receiving the Veterans Appreciation Award! Congratulations also to our Officer of the Year, Laurie Davis; Citizen of the Year, Chet Bialicki, and Elk of the Year Dick Siedzik! I'd also like to take this opportunity to congratulate or newest Irish Person of the Year, Paula Carrigan! Thanks to all of you for all your hard work! In closing, I would to thank all of the wonderful Volunteers and Staff who help keep our Lodge running. You continue to do a great job and make our lodge a great place to be. Finally, I'd like to offer a special thanks to all the members who helped with the 69th Installation of Officers. Great Job!!!!

As I write this our March 24 Veterans Appreciation Luncheon is still a little more than week away. The Westbrook Elks Lodge #1784 scholarship application for the 2017-2018 academic year is available online on our opening page or from the local schools' guidance offices. The Westbrook Elks Scholarship awards $1,500.00 each to a male and female who are high school seniors going to college and exhibit the core values of Knowledge, Charity, Community and Integrity. Participants must reside in the Westbrook Elks' membership towns.

ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION GOALS

When you buy a BOOK FOR A BUCK at the ENF Bookstore you help us meet our Per Capita GOAL established by the Grand Lodge. When we meet that GOAL we get money back that we can distribute to local charities like the Shoreline Soup Kitchen and Meals on Wheels. It's that simple.
