Wharton Career Trek - Request to Company for Trek Visit Template

Dear ,

I hope you had a great weekend.  I am a first year Wharton MBA student, and I gathered your email address from the school's contact directory.

On behalf of our Club’s Trek Committee and the student participants, we would like to invite to participate in the 2016 annual career trek on .

I am hoping you have some time this week to discuss this request and for me to answer any questions you may have about the trek program. Are you available for a quick call either on ?  Please feel free to suggest another time if these options do not work for you.

The following contains more information about the Wharton Trek Program and may answer some of your preliminary questions about hosting.

What is a Trek?

Treks are student-managed visits to companies in US and international locations for the purpose of education and networking. The goal of the trek program is to provide students access to companies and divisions that do and do not recruit on campus, while building industry knowledge and a stronger job-search network.

Why should my company host a trek visit?

You are receiving this email because there is a great deal of Wharton student interest in your company. This program also allows companies to conveniently access Wharton talent, build their brand, and strengthen the overall relationship with the school. Firms do NOT need to have an open MBA position to host a visit.

What is the company commitment/format of the trek visit?

A 1-1.5 hour visit with a representative(s) of the firm and a select group of students. Some larger firms conduct an informal trek panel where multiple functional areas are represented. Other firms have a single representative speaking about his/her role in the company, current projects, industry trends, and career advice for MBAs looking to break into the industry or location. The visit format is typically 45 minutes of informal discussion and 20 minutes of Q&A and networking.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.  I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Trek Committee Co-Chair
