TITLE:Program Manager PROFILE SOURCE:Management Professional DEPARTMENT:Programs StaffREPORTS TO:Director of ProgramsFLSA STATUS:Part-Time, 30 HoursPRIMARY FUNCTION:The Program Manager plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates site specific programs and activities provided in program areas leading to the priority outcomes of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. The Program Manager also provides leadership and supervision to assigned program staff, handles personnel issues, oversees the day-to-day schedule, and communicates with partners on a consistent basis. KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):Prepare Youth for SuccessEnsure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, promoting safety of members and quality in programs at all times. Provide guidance and role modeling to members.Contribute to the planning and implementation of the strategic plan by:Planning, organizing and implementing a range of program services and activities for drop in members and visitors;Initiating new programs with the approval of the Director of Programs Development.Promoting and stimulating program participation.Ensure quality improvement by monitoring and evaluating program achievement against target goals, recommending modifications that respond to member needs and interests and participating in weekly branch staff meetings.Health & SafetyEnsure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in program area.Manage facilities and ensure a productive work environment, maintaining an inventory of all program equipment and supplies in good order. SupervisionRecruit, train and manage assigned volunteers and staff; provide ongoing feedback; and identify and support development opportunitiesEnsure productive and effective performance by all program staff and volunteers.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:1.May participate in special programs and/or events/board led committees2.May be required to drive Club vehicles.RELATIONSHIPS:Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.External: Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:In pursuit of College DegreeDemonstrated ability to work with program team, at risk youth, parents, and community leadersStrong management and organizational skillsAbility to work independently with limited supervisionDemonstrated experience in organization planning, program development, project management and supervision based on the developmental needs of young people Commitment to role model and promote a lifestyle of health, wellness and fitnessMandatory CPR and First Aid CertificationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:General knowledge of and experience working with at-risk populationsBachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or UniversityPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:Please evaluate and describe any physical skills, abilities or working conditions required to perform the essential duties of this position, as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act.The following statements regularly apply to the position:Employee is required to possess a valid driver’s license and is occasionally required to transport members in a company vehicleOccasionally required to travel to other Boys & Girls Club units & sites within the community using personal motor vehicleTo accomplish the position functions, individual is required to work:Irregular hours - OccasionallyAfternoons/Evenings - RegularlyWeekends – OccasionallyDISCLAIMER:The information presented indicates the general nature and level of work expected of employees in this classification.
