He is a member of Kingdom Advisors and is recognized as a Dave Ramsey SmartVestor Pro; andWhereas, from 2008 to 2016, Mr. Travis served as a Ramsey Local Provider for investments and longterm care insurance, and he currently serves as a founding member of the ACTS vehicle ministry team; andWhereas, deeply invested in his community, he also volunteers in his church as the leader of the finance ministry team, where he counsels those in need and has helped facilitate over twenty Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University classes since 2009; andWhereas, including his volunteer contributions of teaching at South Aiken High School for the 20192020 school year, his donations will have totaled over twenty thousand dollars; andWhereas, the personal finance classes began at South Aiken High School in 20122013, and at Midland Valley High School and North Augusta High School in 20182019; andWhereas, Mr. Travis and his wife, Tammy, have reared two fine children, Danielle, who works in Orlando, Florida, and Matthew, who also works at Richard Young Associates. The Travis family has a passion for teaching youth about finances and have sponsored Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finance for local Central Savannah River Area high schools since 2014; and Whereas, he has served on the board of directors of the Megiddo Dream Station, Leadership Aiken County, Salvation Army, Performing Arts Group, and Hungry No More charitable foundations; andWhereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives values the significant contribution that John Travis has made in volunteering to educate the youth of our State, and the members wish him continued success in helping to develop fiscally responsible and productive citizens. Now, therefore,Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor John Travis, an advisor with Richard Young Associates and cohost of the MoneyMD podcast, and express deep appreciation to him for donating his time to teach personal finance classes at South Aiken High School.Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to John Travis.XX ................
