WHAT ARE UTERINE FIBROIDS?

Uterine Fibroids, also called leiomyomas or myomas, are a bulging of the uterine tissue either inside or outside of the uterus. Uterine Fibroids are almost always noncancerous or benign. These growths of the uterus often appear during childbearing years. Fibroids can range in size from as small as a pea to as large as a melon.

WHY DO UTERINE FIBROIDS GROW?

Uterine Fibroids are linked to excess estrogen in the body, a condition called Estrogen Dominance. Estrogen Dominance or ED is a term that describes a condition where a woman can have deficient, normal or excessive estrogen, but has little or no progesterone to balance its effects in the body. Even a woman with low estrogen levels can have estrogen dominance symptoms if she doesn't have enough progesterone in her body to balance it out.

Uterine Fibroids grow when the liver cannot metabolize all the excess estrogen in the body or if your body can't eliminate the estrogen through the body's five elimination channels. Therefore, the estrogen gets stored in the fat cells (weight gain) and other weak parts of the body such as the uterus and the breasts. Too much estrogen can cause your uterus to grow excessively.

Ultimately, Uterine Fibroids grow because of what we eat and drink, our emotional, mental and spiritual status, environmental factors i.e. what we put on our bodies (lotions, hair products, makeup), vitamin and mineral deficiencies, and more. All of these factors can cause estrogen dominance and cause Uterine Fibroids to develop and grow.

The foods and/or food categories listed below contribute to this Uterine Fibroid problem. Food is a large contributor to this problem, however, it is not the only factor

Sugar ? White processed sugar or cane sugar ? Sugar is sugar Beverages Containing Caffeine ? Especially coffee ? It can block your body's ability to absorb iron Saturated Fat Processed Foods White Foods ?Rice, flour, bread, pasta, cakes, cookies, rice cakes, sweets, candies Processed Meats ? Bologna, hot dogs, sausages, smoked meat, beef jerky, canned meat, bacon, ham, salami ? Any meat that has been cured, salted, smoked, dried, or canned Dairy Products ? These products are often high in added hormones Feed Lot Meats ? Factory Farms ? They are loaded with estrogen and/or estrogen mimicking chemicals ? avoid all meat for best results ? If you must eat meat, eat organic, grass fed varieties Farm Raised Fish ? avoid all fish for best results ? If you must eat fish eat wild caught varieties Soda and Pasteurized Juices Soy Foods Fried Foods GMO Foods Fat-Free Foods Artificial Sweeteners Grains ? Avoiding all grains for best results - If you must eat grains eat grains such as brown rice, millet, barley, or quinoa (technically a seed) sparingly Alcohol ? Turns into sugar which causes uterine fibroids to grow Fast Food ? Usually the food is processed or filled with chemicals Don't drink water out of plastic bottles. They contain BPA. A chemical that causes fibroids to grow. If you must drink out of plastic containers be sure it is BPA free. Table Salt ? Use Himalayan or Celtic salt instead Don't eat foods marketed as gluten free i.e. bread, crackers, cookies, etc. ? What you get when you eat gluten free foods is potato starch, cornstarch and any other starch that makes food taste good without the gluten. The problem is, all those starches are equally bad for you, or a close second and they can make fibroids grow.
