A Season for Celebration at the UU Congregation at Shelter Rock Please plan to join us for a full array of services and community events marking holidays and holy days in December and January.

SUNDAY, DECEMBER 3, 2017, 11:00 AM The UUCSR Ministry Team Last June over 15 delegates from UUCSR represented the congregation at the General Assembly in New Orleans, LA. The GA 2017 theme, "Resist and Rejoice," was dedicated to awakening and deepening UUs' commitment to working in solidarity with people on the margins. Some delegates will share their insight and impressions of GA2017 as we look ahead to GA2018 next June in Kansas City, MO. Following UU Caf?, RE is sponsoring a Holiday Decorating Party in the Art Gallery and Social Hall, and Women's Group is holding a Holiday Sale. FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2017, 7:30 PM The Rev. Ned Wight, Interim Senior Minister "This time of transitional ministerial leadership at UUCSR invites all sorts of hopes and expectations for the new minister. It's easy to have these build up into a messianic vision of someone who will come and solve all our problems and fulfill all our dreams. How might the congregation prepare more realistically for its next ministerial leader, laying out areas of strength, areas of concern, and areas of opportunity? How might we strengthen the foundation upon which this new leadership can build? Ned will offer an assessment of where we are in our interim work and what tasks like ahead. This year's Messiah Sing in the Worship Room follows UU Caf? today. Singers and listeners are most welcome. SUNDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2017, 11:00 AM Nancy Reid-McKee, Ministerial Intern Family Holiday Service "Hanukkah & Christmas -- Lights of the Season" At this Holiday Family Service we will enjoy the Nativity Play presented annually by the First Grade Class, and a Hanukkah story that reminds us of our community.
