RESOURCES AND MATERIALS :transcript of listening passage, pictures of groups of birds ,dictionary, flash cards in the forms of jigsaw puzzles
Collective nouns:
A company of parrots, a flight of geese, a colony of bees, a parliament of owls
PLAN
Pre listening: The teacher narrates the story related to the origin of Panchatantra tales as a warm up to the listening Activity. The tr. Plays the story using collective nouns
While listening: Listen to the audio and under line the describing words that have been wrongly used.
After Listening : level III
1. Find the meanings of the collective nouns that are on the flash cards.
2. Find the partner who has the other half of the flash card and match.
(To support the children who are at level 1)
3. Cut the pictures of the groups of birds and paste in the appropriate places after listening to the instructions of your partner.
Eg :A company of parrots are flying over the tree.
Extended Activity: Story development and creative writing. (30 minutes) Develop a story using the picture you have created and write it down.
( Teacher to prompt and guide the children.)
