COURSE DESCRIPTION
Students will learn about the spatial distribution of people, places, physical features, resources, and human activities. There are five fundamental themes of geography that provide the framework for World Geography: Location, Place, Human-Environmental Interaction, Movement, and Regions. The course will provide students with a better understanding of the framework and hopefully be able to apply it for future use as needed.

Three Ring Binder A / 93-100
Loose Leaf Paper B / 85-92
Ink Pen or Pencil C / 77-84
Coloring Pencils D / 70-76
F / Below 70
Extra Coloring Pencils, Hand Sanitizer, Kleenex, and Crayons would be greatly appreciated.
GRADING POLICY
MINOR ASSIGNMENTS (30%) – consists of open and/or closed note quiz grades, video quiz grades, classroom assignments from the textbook, or worksheets that are designated as quiz grades.
MAJOR ASSIGNMENTS (30%) – 2 announced Notebook Checks each quarter in which students will have an opportunity to prepare for. Items to be included in the notebook and in order include: class notes, handouts, textbook assignments (both graded and ungraded), worksheet assignments (both graded and ungraded), graded tests, and any other assigned work throughout the quarter.
TESTS (40%) – Students will be tested at the end of each unit. Students will also have 2-4 projects each quarter. Both group and individual projects will be assigned. The majority of time needed to complete the project will be spent in class and in the computer lab. Some work outside of class may be needed in order to complete a project.
***HONORS STUDENTS WILL HAVE AN ADDITIONAL PROJECT OR PROJECTS TO BE COMPLETED OUTSIDE OF CLASS FOR HONORS CREDIT THIS SEMESTER.***
The make up policy for missed work is as follows. The student is responsible for finding out about work that is missed due to absences of any kind. The student will in turn be given a fair opportunity to make up the work and submit for full credit. Any work that is not submitted within an established time period will result in 0 for that assignment. If a student is absent on the day in which an assigned activity is due, the assignment should be turned in on the next day that the student comes back from the absence for full credit.
