Gift Certificates Make Great Gifts!

May is a special month with Mother's Day, Graduation, and Memorial Day. It is an opportunity to share your skills as you make gifts or gift that special person with a machine or gift certificate.

Sew What's New is having a special sale in addition to the ones advertised by Husqvarna Viking and Pfaff. Check it all out and plan a surprise for someone else or yourself! There are also 60 month, 0% interest financing opportunities.

Because people have said they have not had time to finish a project in class, two things will be noticed. First, some of the class times have been lengthened or a class will be taught in two parts. Second, this month there is a Catch Up day scheduled for each teaching staff member. So get out those unfinished projects and plan to come on the Catch Up day with the person who taught the class.

The embroidery projects this month will also be different. For one, a design will be created in the morning during Software Club. Stay to stitch out the design in the afternoon to start a quilt or on a project of your choice. You may just come to the

afternoon class and the design will be included in the fee for your class.

In another, learn to create an embroidery design from a tracing, or transfer the tracing for hand embroidery. The project is a table mat and there is one for each month, so choose any one to learn the skills.

Here's to a merry month of May! Enjoy the celebrations. We are good at keeping secrets if you would like us to help you plan surprises.

EVENTS LESSONS FOR OWNERS AND SKILLS CLASSES

Sewing Machine or Serger Mornings are usually a great time to schedule an owner's lesson. Private lessons available for a $25 - $35 per hour fee if you did not purchase your machine from SWN. No fee for lesson if machine purchased from SWN, however it is important to make an appointment. Yes, you bring your own machine so you begin to "bond" with it! NOTE: There is no limit on the number of owner's lessons you may have or how long ago you purchased your machine. Come in for a refresher!

Modern Scrappy BOM Quilt, Part #3 (Janna & Connie) As promised, here it is, a block-ofthe-month sampler with a modern twist and a variety of techniques. This third class will be a Hexiflower & Bubbles featuring English paper piecing by hand or machine (both taught), and applique. $115 fee for 9-part series or $17 per class. Yes, you may still join!

Table Mat with Hand or Machine Embroidery (Roni) During this two-part class, first learn how to transfer designs for hand work or to put into your embroidery software to create an embroidery design plus using TriangulationsTM. During the second part, learn piecing and a new border technique. $25 fee, pattern required.
