With the hard work of the boys and the excellent coaching of Mr. Fisher and Mr. Malinowski, Avon's 71-72 wrestling team got off to a tremendous start winning 10 in a row. The team drew much support from the student body both at home and at away matches. The support at away matches was made possible by spectator buses provided for the first time this year. The cheerleaders, under Mrs. Hutchins' superv1s1on, gave all their support at every match. Some of the more outstanding boys included: P. Quinn, first in the counties; D. Decker, second; M. Close, second; B. Stapley, first; T. Greer, fourth; B. Tubbs, fourth. Other seniors include: K. Woodruff, R. Torregiano, P.Brogan, and D. Buckley.
