Learning Target: I can identify the difference between living and nonliving

things.

Background: This is a continuation lesson from Kindergarten.

In Kindergarten, students learned to make observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive.

In first grade, students will learn the difference between living and nonliving things and dive deeper into what those living things need to survive.

In 2nd grade, students will observe how different amounts of water and light affect the growth of a plant.
