21st Century Skills

Student effort, participation, and approaches to learning are crucial to success in the classroom. As students prepare for college and career, they must master specific 21st Century Skills. These skills include but are not limited to the following: collaboration, oral communication, time management, organization, note taking, use of technology and other resources, use of specific formats or styles of writing, and work habits such as following directions and completing and submitting assignments on time. Homework completion will be assessed as part of the 21st Century Skills.

Procedures for Re-do

Consistent with Anne Arundel County Board of Education policy on grading, students who have not yet met the proficiency level (grade of C) or are not satisfied with an assessment grade are able to complete a re-do assessment following academic intervention. The academic intervention will be determined by the teacher. This practice provides students the opportunity to submit the best product possible.

To recognize mastery, the higher grade for the assessment will be recorded in the grade book. Both intervention and the re-do MUST be completed by the 5th class period after the assignment is returned to the student.

Late Assessments

Summative assessments must be submitted within five class periods of the due date.
