Work Session Meeting Minutes – District Media Center 7:00 p.m.

"In accordance with the provisions of the Open Public Meetings Act, the West Long Branch Board of Education has issued notice of this meeting to be publicized by having the date, time and location of the meeting posted at Betty McElmon Elementary, Frank Antonides School and the West Long Branch Public Library and mailed to the Asbury Park Press, which has been designated as the Board's official newspaper. Notice was also filed with the Borough Clerk and sent to those persons requesting that such notice be mailed to them."

Mrs. Vaccaro called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m.

PERSONNEL RESOLUTIONS 1-2

The West Long Branch Board of Education by means of a Consent Resolution accept various resolutions of a routine and non-controversial nature at one time; and

Whereas, the below listed resolutions are hereby accepted by the said Board of Education in whole as if the same were individually acted upon.

1. Move to approve, upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent, the hiring of

Mrs. Kristin DuBois for the position of Preschool Instructional Aide pending the review of Criminal History and other applicable documents. Mrs. DuBois has a BS in Psychology and four (4) years of Preschool experience. Mrs. Dubois will be paid at $13.10 per hour, not to exceed 29.5 hours with no health benefits.

2. Move to approve, upon the recommendation of the Interim Superintendent, the transfer of Mrs. Deborah Bentley, Preschool Instructional Aide from Preschool Aide to Special Education Instructional Aide at her current salary of $13.76 per hour, not to exceed 29.5 hours per week with no health benefits. This transfer will occur at a to be determined date when her replacement in the Preschool Aide position’s criminal History and other applicable documents are successfully completed.

New Business: Committees - Dr. Hunter questioned if Board Policy included Board President and/or Vice President to be on all committees. Ms. LaPrete will research and discuss with board attorney.

PERSONNEL RESOLUTION 3

3. The West Long Branch Board of Education hereby ratifies its resolution of February 12, 2013 appointing Mr. Thomas Farrell as Shared Superintendent of Schools commencing on April 15, 2013 and expiring on July 1, 2016, at an annual salary of $137,500 for the 2012-2013 school year (prorated) and the 2013-2014 school year, $142,500 for the 2014-2015 school year and $145,000 for the 2015-2016 school year, one-half of which annual salary amounts shall be the responsibility of the West Long Branch Board of Education pursuant to the Shared Superintendent of Schools Employment Agreement between Thomas Farrell and the West Long Branch Board of Education and the Shore Regional High School District Board of Education, which employment agreement hereby is approved in view of the approval of the said employment agreement by Joseph F. Passiment, Jr., Monmouth County Executive Superintendent of Schools, by letter dated February 19, 2013.
