It’s hard to believe it is already time to start making plans to participate in the 41st Annual Christmas in the Country. The 2016 show will be held at the Dickson County High School (Hwy 70 Bypass, Dickson, TN) on Saturday, November 5th (9 A.M. – 5 P.M.) and Sunday, November 6th (11 A.M. – 4 P.M.).Before submitting your application, please carefully read the following information:Two booth sizes are available. Our 8’ x 12’ booths (located in the gymnasium) are $85. Booths that are 8’ x 8’ (located in the cafeteria or lobby) are $70. The 4’ x 16’ booths have been eliminated because of changes in the Fire Marshall Regulations. If you had a booth last year and would like the same location, we will reserve your space provided you return the reservation form and rental fee before August 1st. We are not a juried show. The committee reserves the right to limit the number of booths with like items for sale. If you are not awarded a booth, you will be sent an application next year and you may apply again for booth space.ONLY ORIGINAL, HANDCRAFTED ITEMS ARE PERMITTED IN OUR SHOW! No commercially produced items may be sold. If you are selling gift baskets or clothing items, no less than 75% of the contents of the basket or clothing items must be handmade. The committee reserves the right to examine booth items and investigate complaints of suspect crafts. If the committee calls an item into question, you will be asked to remove said item from your booth. We are not a juried show; however, we strive to protect the integrity of our show by insisting that only authentic, handcrafted items are sold.ELECTRICITY IS NOT GUARANTEED. Electricity requests will be filled in the order your application is received. All booths with electricity must be located on a perimeter wall. No extension cords are allowed to run across the aisles and walkways. Extension cords WILL NOT BE provided by the committee.Open flames and burning candles are NOT permitted. Candle warmers may be used and can be sold only as a package deal with homemade candle melts.Home-canned items may be sold only if they meet the TDA rules for sale of home-prepped food. For a complete copy of the domestic kitchen rules and regulations, go to agriculture . Food samples are NOT permitted. Also, you are not allowed to sell bottled water, etc. that would compete with the cafeteria sales.No tables or chairs are provided. Please plan your exhibit so that all wallboards, shelves, etc. are freestanding. You may not attach anything to the walls of the building. Enclosed tents (i.e. 3 sided) will not be permitted.Due to damages to school property during the past years, all children under 18 are to remain in the booth or accompanied by an adult at all times.No change will be available from the door. Please bring an adequate supply.All proceeds of sales belong to the vendor who is solely responsible for collecting all Tennessee sales taxes.Booth set-up is Saturday morning from 6 A.M. - 8:30 A.M. Once again, the Dickson County Wrestling Team will be on hand to assist with unloading on Saturday morning and loading on Sunday evening. These young men work very hard! Please remember to tip them accordingly as this is how they fund their travel expenses to competitions. Also, keep in mind that the services of these young men are available on a first come first serve basis.By renting a booth and signing the application, you agree to attend the entire show from start to finish. Unless the committee has given consent prior to the first day of the show, please do not dismantle your displays or pack up products before the close of the show at 4 P.M. on Sunday. If you break down your booth early, you will forfeit your spot in future shows. In case of an emergency, you must contact a member of the staff before breaking down your booth. Again, this is to protect the integrity of the show.A reservation confirmation will be sent to vendors by September 30th. We urge you to promptly return your reservation form, as booth spaces sell out rapidly. Booth reservations made after October 1st must be paid in cash or money order. No checks will be accepted and will be returned. No booth rental fees will be accepted the day of the show.CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations must be received in writing on or before October 1st to be eligible for a refund. A $25 cancellation fee will be deducted from all refunds. No refunds will be given after October 1st. Christmas in the Country allows some of the top artisans and craftspeople in our region to share their inspiration and skill, as well as the uniqueness of their crafts. Proceeds from this event benefit our scholarship fund and many other community projects supported by GFWC Dickson County Woman’s Club.
