|Role Summary |

|We are seeking to appoint a personable and persuasive individual to the Corporate Planning and Governance Team within the Corporate Intelligence Unit. The |

|successful candidate will contribute to the provision of high quality business support services to the University. This will include support for business |

|planning processes, corporate governance, market intelligence, and with a specific focus on business continuity and risk management. |

| |

|The post holder will support the Business Continuity and Risk Manager to lead a culture of understanding, appreciation and compliance with the principles |

|of risk management, major incident planning and business continuity as they apply to the University of Derby. The candidate will therefore be required to |

|develop a good understanding of the University’s risk management, business continuity processes, and to promote the importance of this critical agenda. |

|The post holder will play an important role in the continued implementation and development of business continuity and risk management across the |

|University under the guidance of the Business Continuity & Risk Manager. Responsibilities will include support for the development and maintenance of the |

|University’s Super Risks, Strategic Risk Register, incident management processes, business continuity plans, and to ensure that the significance of these |

|activities permeates the whole institution. |

|Principal Accountabilities |

| |

|Provide administrative support for the Corporate Planning and Governance Team, with a specific focus on business continuity and risk management. |

|Assist in the production of regular, high quality reports for College Management Boards, Audit & Risk Committee, Governing Council, SFPC and other |

|committees as required. |

|Support the Corporate Planning Manager through agenda setting and minute writing across a range of corporate planning and governance groups and meetings. |

|Deputising for the Business Continuity and Risk Manager as required, attending meetings and addressing queries in their absence. |

|Train new University Risk Managers on the University’s processes and procedures. |

|Support and advise University Risk Managers on how to review and update their individual risk registers, including data input. |

|Assist the creation, collation and routine update of Business Impact Assessments (BIA) and Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and creating reports. |

|Lead arrangements for audits, reviews and inspections of the Corporate Planning and Governance function, including liaison with the University’s external |

|audit service; |

|Ensure that academic risk is embedded within risk reporting to provide Executive and Governing Council with a clear line of sight (expectation in the CUC |

|code); |

|Continually review, develop and enhance procedures for the Incident Responder Framework, and develop networking opportunities for Incident Responders; |

|Contribute to super risk reporting, interpreting requirements and calculating the cumulative impact of our corporate risks; |

|Coordinate the planning and delivery of major incident scenario planning exercises and make a key contribution to the design of those exercises; |

|Evaluate incident management processes through data collation and analysis of evidence to ensure that they remain fit for purpose in a changing |

|environment. |

|Undertake sector scanning and benchmarking to advise on policy change and new innovations that could be utilised with the University’s frameworks; |

|Ensure that all business continuity and risk management processes are documented and stored to ensure service continuity; |

|Design and maintain the institutional SharePoint site to ensure that staff can easily access key business continuity and risk management documentation; |

|Support the introduction and embedding of risk appetite within the institution’s corporate and business planning frameworks. |

|Contribute to general BSS and University operations, including Awards Ceremonies and Enrolment. |

|Undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall function, commensurate with the grading and level of responsibility of the job. |
