We promise an experience which is lovingly inclusive and inspired by the teachings of Jesus Christ.Job PurposeSupporting with the reconciliation of the BWMATs multiple bank accounts as well as Bank Account administration, including the set up and allocation of new accounts, and changes to the Bank Mandates.Maintaining monthly central financial controls and reconciliation processes around petty cash, company credit cards and payroll.Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger for the central team, from the raising of orders through to the payment of invoices and management of aged creditors and debtors.Responsible for generating and checking the centralised payment of suppliers, on behalf of all the BWMAT schools. Acting in the capacity as Helpdesk for the schools, to support, resolve and escalate issues in relation to the Finance system and processes.Providing administrative support, using excel and word skills to support the preparation of Management Accounts, Budgetary and Statutory Accounts packs.Main Responsibilities and DutiesReconciliation of School Bank AccountsMonthly reconciliation and control of petty cash returnsMonthly reconciliation of Head Office and Schools procurement cards Administration of bank accounts, bank stationery and procurement cards for new school and individuals and changes to existing ones.Procurement for the central team and generation of appropriate Purchase ordersDaily processing of the central team supplier invoicesResolution of supplier invoice queries for the central team and schoolsMaintaining supplier master data within the finance systemWeekly processing all BWMAT payments via BACs for suppliers and staff expenses in line with due datesReview of employee expenses to ensure compliance with internal policies and HMRC requirements.Processing Sales Ledger invoices for the central teamIdentification and resolution of aged debtors and creditors for the BWMATHelpdesk for BWMAT schools for business and finance queries, with particular emphasis on supporting users on the Finance system and finance processes.Supporting in the compilation of Management Accounts, Budgetary and Statutory Accounts packs.To assist the Financial Controller in ad hoc tasks, such as procurement and information collection and project support and monitoring.Maintenance of company’s house details with regards to changes in Directors or their details.Servicing the Finance and Audit committee meetings, preparing agenda and minutesOpening and distributing daily postTo undertake such other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably requested.Supervision and ManagementNoneProblem Solving and CreativityAbility to understand issues and take to resolution, this will be in relation to:Bank reconciliationsSupplier account reconciliationAged Debtors and Creditors resolutionSystem issuesKey Contacts and RelationshipsSchool Business Managers and finance staffSchool Finance Support and Hub Business ManagersAssistant AccountantProject AccountantExternal IT support providerFinance system providerAudit & Finance Committee MembersCOODecision MakingAbility to act upon own initiativeResourcesUse of desktop computerWorking EnvironmentOffice based PERSON SPECIFICATIONJob Title:Finance AssistantLocation:WellsKEY CRITERIAESSENTIALDESIRABLEQualifications and ExperienceAAT qualified or QBEPractical experience of working in a Finance environment.Previous experience in sales and purchase ledger function.Previous experience of performing bank reconciliationsExperience of working in a school, academy or education settingKnowledgeA good understanding of double entry bookkeepingAbility to reconcile accountsKnowledge of PS Financials Finance system – training will be givenAble to use Microsoft OfficeSkills and AbilitiesStrong organisation, prioritisation and time management skillsGood numeracy and literacy skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAbility to communicate with a range of audiencesAttention to detail with an eye for accuracyExcellent written and verbal skillsGood IT skillsAbility to work within a teamAbility to use own initiativeAbility to work in a fast-moving change environment.Work-related Personal RequirementsWillingness to work outside of normal working hours as requiredI agreed that I have read the job description which is fair and accurate statement of the requirement of the position:???Job Holder:? ………………………………………………………….????
