Christine "Christie" McKay Stephens, daughter of Donald Wilson McKay (deceased) and Lucy McKay of Little Rock, Arkansas was born on May 10th, 1952 and passed from this physical life on August 18th, 2016, after a short illness. She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas and attended school there. After graduating high school Christie moved to New Orleans for just a few years before moving to Houston, Texas and staying there for over thirty years. Christie had great Faith and worked hard to become an Interfaith Minister in 2007. She lived her life with great enthusiasm and joy. She cared deeply for those who touched her heart, and especially the animals and the natural world. She gave freely of herself in her healing work. She is profoundly mourned by her partner Barry Stephens, whom she always called `her rock' and her daughter Shannon Guerra and her grandsons, Dominic and Ayden Guerra, along with her sister Melissa Colburn, her niece Karen Flores and many close friends. Christie brought joy and encouragement, wisdom and a great kindness to life and to those who knew her. She brought a sense of integrity to her work and all things that she managed to accomplish in her life. No doubt she continues to bring a fresh and beautiful light to the work she will continue to do. We love and miss you, Christie... beyond any words. Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Montgomery, TX
