Compatibility Notice

eSIS is NOT compatible with Windows Vista or Internet Explorer 7.0. 

eSIS developers are working to provide this functionality in the future and we will let you know when it is available.

However, if you have Vista or IE 7.0 on your home computer right, it likely will NOT work with eSIS.

IS Disclaimer for eSIS@Home

1.  No one is required to access eSIS from home!

eSIS @Home access is voluntary and never required by School District Policy

2.  High-speed broadband access to the Internet is strongly recommended!

While technically possible to access eSIS over a dial-up modem connection, the speed and performance will be slow and frustrating.

3.  Access to eSIS from home comes with serious responsibilities!

Please remember the following while accessing eSIS from home:

1. There is a legal requirement to maintain student and employee privacy

2. Keep your password to yourself (never share it with anyone or display it publicly).

3. Always run anti-virus software and keep your virus definitions up to date

4. Never leave your eSIS window unattended and never send reports to unattended printers

4.  Always log out and close the browser window!

When done with your session, please remember to log out of eSIS and close the browser to protect privacy.

5. IS or IT does not make house calls!

Information Services and Information Technology staff are available during normal working hours to answer questions about the eSIS software but they are limited in providing support for home computers.

Common Problems (and Solutions)

1. Oracle J-Initiator and Apple MRJ

The first time you access eSIS, you will likely be asked to install the Oracle J-Initiator or Apple MRJ.  Please do so.  This may take a few minutes but you will only have to install it once.  If the installation does not work automatically, please scroll to the bottom of this page and follow the instructions for "How to Install JInitiator Manually"

2. Certificates

For both Mac and PC, you may be asked to accept a "certificate" to which you should affirmatively answer "accept" or "always."

3. Pop Up Blockers

For both Mac and PC, pop-up blockers may cause issues.  Please temporarily disable your pop-up blocker or set it to allow pop-ups from the following:

*.lane.edu*

How to Install JInitiator Manually

1.  Click on this link to begin the download: Oracle JInitiator 1.3.1.22

2.  Save the file to your desktop.

3.  On your desktop, there should be a file named jinit13122.exe.  Double-click on the file to start the installation

4.  Click Next and follow the steps to complete the installation.

5.  When the installation is finished, click OK.

6.  Restart your computer.

7.  From the Coos Bay District website (), open eSIS by hovering over "Staff Resources” and drilling down to select eSIS.
