STUDENT #2______________________________ PRESENTING/TALKING PTS _____/50

**Everyone must TALK during the presentation. When you are presenting, please be LOUD, CLEAR and know what you are talking about.

Your misson

1. Create a powerpoint slide presentation (7+ slides…can NOT exceed 10 slides) using information your researched on an assigned genetic disorder.

❖ Please do not plagarize. Organize your ideas concisely and use your own words!

❖ If you have too many words on your powerpoint/slide, it will be confusing and not useful for the students resulting in a lower grade.

❖ Please note: if you use a word that you do not understand, I might ask you about. Be prepared. The thesaurus is your friend (

Group Projects

1. BE SURE TO COMMUNICATE WITH YOUR PARTNERS! You will work with 1-2 other students.

❖ The project will be graded as a group, therefore, the group must share the work equally.

❖ I will have questions ready for each group member during the presentation. If there is any question in my mind that one or more students does not know the material, then the group grade may suffer.

❖ If you find that one or more group members are not doing their fair share of the work, it is important that you reflect this in an email to me about it.

❖ There must be evidence that everyone has worked on the project to show that each member learned all of the information. Therefore, each person will present but the entire group is responsible for answering any questions from the class or from me (the teacher).

3. Groups will present their projects in class for 5-10 minutes. Each member is required to take part in the presentation. Students may use note cards to present, but MAY NOT read the powerpoint to the class. Please KNOW what you are talking about.

4. You will need to email me your PPT (as an attachment) to BAGaynor@cps.edu by Sunday 3/11/18 at 5 pm. This is 11.7% of the group grade! You can NOT present if you do not email me your PPT. Please look for a confirmation email from me that I received your PPT and I can open it!

PROJECT IS WORTH: 180 points

INDIVIDUAL PRESENTATION: 50 points

TOTAL POINTS = 230

Everyone

1. All students must be respectful to other presenters before and after their own projects have been presented.

2. Students will be responsible for learning about each disorder. Students will have a powerpoint guide to fill in on each disorder. It will be graded during the next binder check. You will have a test on the material covered in the presentations.

3. All students will need to fill out a peer evalution for each student in their group, including themselves.
