What is Minecraft: Education Edition?

Minecraft: Education Edition is a game-based learning platform that unleashes a child's creativity and also engages children in building critical skills like collaboration and creative problem solving. Don't worry if you have never played in Minecraft, we are sure that your child will already be familiar with the platform! As a parent in the 21st Century, your role is to provide additional learning opportunities for your child and to let their imagination run free and let them start exploring and creating through interactive FUN!

Why Minecraft Education Edition?

Minecraft: Education Edition is not the same as normal Minecraft. Minecraft: Education Edition inspires deep, meaningful learning across subjects and is used around the world to teach lessons, build social-emotional skills, and inspire project-based learning. The Minecraft: Education Edition platform offers special features designed for educational use, including assessment tools like the Camera, Book and Quill, Immersive Reader (to support reading and translating) and classroom multiplayer to allow learners to work together in the immersive game environment. Updates are regularly being made with additional Subjects Kits and monthly challenges that are made available.

Learners can also design and model solutions to challenges in Minecraft. Minecraft: Education Edition includes a long list of pre-made Minecraft worlds. Players can build their own worlds, allowing them to engage in and explore an instructive virtual environment. How to install Minecraft Education Edition

In order to install and play Minecraft: Education Edition you will need:

? A Computer running Windows 10 ? An internet connection for access to authenticate as well as to

download and import new activities like lesson kits and downloadable worlds. ? Preferably have a PC and mouse for the ultimate experience (can be played on Chromebook, iPad, Mac and PC). ? Minecraft: Education Edition license/s. You can access the Hour of Code lessons under the Demo license, but you will ultimately need a license to access Minecraft: Education Edition in order to continue without a Trial and have access to all of the information that will be made available for your child to save worlds and continue learning (you can subscribe to the ZooZone Interactive Learning Academy's monthly membership here: zoozone.co.za/subscribe/ which includes full access to the Minecraft: Education Edition platform). * Important Side note: the monthly license also includes a login to the ZooZone Member's area where your child will be able to access other additional interactive activities & worlds & project files. Therefore, you will have 2 login areas: x1 to the Member's area with your details you inserted when you subscribed + then the Minecraft: Education Edition license details supplied separately once subscribed.

Once you have installed Minecraft: Education Edition, you will be able to access the Demo or code lessons or even other worlds through the Trial period.

The trial period will expire after a couple of days and your child will need a license to access Minecraft: Education Edition thereafter.
