Things you need for Training Monday ? Thursday:

o 1 -- to have the webinar pulled up on the screen Any device will work, as long as it's connected to internet

o 1 -- to play Minecraft and follow along o Windows, Mac, iPad Highly suggest having an external mouse Download Minecraft: Education Edition to your device: o If you have your own Office 365 account username and password through your district, you can use that. If not, we will provide you with demo accounts on the day of the training. o Check here to see if your school is set up with Minecraft: EE Minecraft controls guide - If you don't feel like toggling between screens, feel free to print off to have in front of you (at the bottom of this document)

Things you need to prepare your students for the Minecraft Challenge:

Ensure your students have: Internet A device (Windows, iPad, Mac). Please note: Minecraft: EE is not currently supported on Chromebooks. Office 365 Account login and password -- talk with your IT staff if you are unsure Your students will use this to log into Minecraft: EE Download Minecraft: Education Edition to his/her device: Link to attend:

The Minecraft Challenge:

Teachers will need to register on behalf of his/her students for the challenge.

Students will attend the Virtual Announcement on Friday, June 5 from 12pm ? 1pm, where we will be announcing our Minecraft Challenge, providing the rules and details. To attend the virtual announcement, ensure your students have:

When they open this, they can open in Microsoft Teams or click "Watch on the Web Instead"

If you have students unable to attend, that is ok. We will record the video, and post to the IDEA website afterwards so they can obtain the directions.

Your students will have until Monday, June 8 at 5pm CST to submit their completed challenge to you, their teacher. Each registered teacher will choose a winner for your class, and . A panel will then evaluate all submissions and choose top winners for each education level. Winners will be posted to the IDEA website by Friday, June 12th.

Details 1. Supported platforms for Minecraft: Education Edition

At this time, Minecraft: Education Edition is supported on operating systems for PC, iPad and Mac. On PC, Minecraft is supported for Windows 10 and earlier versions. On macOS Minecraft is supported for Sierra and High Sierra systems and later. On iOS Minecraft is supported on iOS 10 or higher. Minecraft: EE is not available on Chromebooks, and do not have any further information to share at this time.

2. Check to see if your school is set up with Minecraft: EE a. If "your school account is ready to use with Minecraft: Education Edition", then skip number 4 (download Minecraft: EE).

b. If you don't receive this message but you have a valid Office 365 EDU account, fill out this form to request access to Minecraft: Education Edition through June 2020.

c. If you don't have an Office 365 EDU account - Minecraft: EE is currently free to all educational institutions through June 2020. You will just need a valid Office 365 account. You can sign up here.

d. Please check with your IT department. You can provide them with the following IT Admin Guide for more details.

3. Download Minecraft: Education Edition for Windows, Mac or iPad. 4. Students need their Office 365 login information (ask your IT Department if you are unsure) to sign

into Minecraft: EE.

We will be participating in a Minecraft Challenge on June 5.
