Time Management PortfolioIn this portfolio, you will complete a self-assessment of your priorities, how you spend your time and how you can be more efficient with your time to maximize output and minimize stress. Step 1: List your top 5 priorities below. 1.2.3.4.5.Step 2: Fill out the Time Sheet chart. Attach separately when you submit the portfolio. Step 3: Use the chart below to determine what % of your time you’re dedicating to the activities you listed in the Time Sheet chart. Divide the number of hours spent by 168 (the total number of hours in one week).CategoryHours Spent Per WeekPercentage of Time Per Week Spent on this ActivityStep 4: Where are you really spending your time?Based on the % of time spent per week, what are your top 5 “priorities”?1.2.3.4.5.Are there any categories where you feel you’re spending an appropriate amount of time? What categories were you surprised by the amount of time you spend on them? Would you like to change the amount of time spent on any of the categories?Step 5: Identify & Eliminate DistractorsWhat are the main things that distract you from things you know you need to do?What do you tell yourself when you choose these distractions over other priorities? Do you think you’re being honest with yourself when you tell yourself these things? Was there a time when choosing these distractions had a poor outcome for you? How can you reduce or eliminate these distractions?Step 6: Improving Time ManagementEliminating distractions is just the first step. In order to really improve, you have to replace those distractions with better habits. Here’s how:Create a digital calendar to house all of your appointments, events, reminders, etc. You can use Google or something similar. The most important thing is that you can have easy access to it and it can send you push notifications to either your desktop or phone. Add all of your Live Lessons, homeroom phone calls, MAP Testing sign up times, help sessions, lessons or classes outside of school, work schedule. Add a screenshot of the following below:Week view of the calendarOne calendar event showing a reminder listed to send you a push notificationOne calendar event showing a re-occurring status. (Hint: These could be the same one lol)Bonus: add me to the calendar event for our English 12 class (Thursdays @ 11am AZ time) at ebrown@aca. for 2 pts of extra credit!Start making To Do Lists for the day or week. You can customize the template provided or create one of your own. Please add a screen shot or photo of your To Do list you’ve made. Set a timer for activities you need to start but don’t want to do. My recommendation: use an in-browser timer instead of your phone. Checking the countdown on your phone will just invite distractions while you’re working. Tell yourself, “I’m only going to work for 20 minutes.” Usually by the end of the 20 minutes, I will decide to do another 20 minutes at least. The in-browser timer I use is called “1-click timer” and is a Google Chrome extension app. Add a screenshot or picture of the timer you’re using. Pick a song that you’ll play when you need to get started. Mine is “Silver Springs” by Fleetwood Mac. Every time I sit down to grade after hours, I start by listening to that song. Tell me below what your “kick off” song is. This should be a song that will help you get down to business and pump you up, so choose wisely! List the song below and how it motivates you.Based on your review of how you’re spending your time, what are your goals for time management this school year? Some (or all) of these things might not be right for you, but they have helped me…a reformed recovering Procrastinator. It took me years of struggling to figure out what worked best for me and my goal here is to give you the tools to improve your time management in far less time than it took me. Hopefully this activity will be a good starting point for you! ................
