Classroom 02-111B

Welcome to Marine Science 2! This course is designed to provide students a hands-on, real-life experience into the world around them. We will be studying many aspects of aquaculture including capturing, breeding, and maintaining healthy organisms. Students will have the opportunity to take the Florida State Aquaculture Certification test. In addition, please be ready to discuss current events and technologies.

Classroom Expectations: The rules for this class are simple.

WADING TRIPS

We are hoping to go wading at Cedar Point Environmental Center this year. These will be after school, starting the 2nd 9 weeks if all goes well. Please be sure to have appropriate clothing. Students must wear closed toed shoes in the water due to urchins, oysters, rocks and other objects with in the grasses. These can be old sneakers, cheap shoes, or water shoes. Sunscreen and bug spray are highly recommended.

Chaperones will be needed. Parents/Guardians can go to the school website, “Parents & Students” tab and look for “Volunteer Application” under Helpful Information.
