JOB DESCRIPTION

TITLE: Coordinator of Technical Support

SUPERVISOR: Director of Financial Aid

JOB OBJECTIVES: To provide the Financial Aid Office with the computer capability to maintain student financial aid

files on Banner and to coordinate these efforts with other offices on campus and via distance learning. Further responsible for coordination of Electronic Data Exchange with the Department of Education for grants, loans, and ISIR data

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A. Maintains the Financial Aid Management portion of Banner, including responsibility of Banner financial aid tables and

various Banner programs / reports.

B. Creates and manages various Banner reports which provide greater efficiency for the Financial Aid Office.

C. Coordinates Banner activities related to financial aid with other offices on campus, including the Admissions Office, Records

Office, Bursar Office, and Computer Services Division.

D. Coordinates the process of Electronic Data Exchange with the Department of Education.

E. Coordinates financial aid modifications to Banner Self-Service for Students.

F. Maintains the Net Price Calculator and works with the Webmaster to ensure it is updated each year

G. Updates the Gainful Employment Disclosures yearly and submits the Gainful Employment reports via NSLDS

H. Provides technical support related to processing Tennessee Student Assistance Awards (TSAA), Tennessee Promise (TNP), Tennessee Reconnect (TNR), and Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarships (TELS) via FTP.

I. Serves as coordinator for the processing and reconciliation of the Tennessee Student Assistance Awards (TSAA)

J. Maintains the various software packages necessary to process aid.

K. Runs letters and file folders for processing

L. Responsible for working with Computer Services Division (CSD) on getting reports put into ARGOS

M. Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB STANDARDS:

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in computer programming, business administration, counseling, or related field) or related

business experience required.

JOB LOCATION: The primary job location is the college's main campus. Occasional travel throughout the service area may be

required.

EQUIPMENT: Ability to manage financial aid software, telephone, and other standard office equipment.

CRITICAL SKILLS / EXPERTISE:

• Experience with Ellucian products desirable.

• Experience in a Financial Aid Office, particularly in the area of being responsible for the computer support of the office.

• Ability to assume responsibility for managing data files within the Financial Aid Office and coordinating computer activity with other offices on campus, distance learning, and with other state and federal agencies.

• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with students, other employees, federal and state agencies, and the general public.

• Working knowledge of regulations governing federal, state, and institutional policies regarding the administration of financial aid.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Marginal tasks performed include the operation of standard office equipment such as fax and copy machines.
