STATUS: Part-time, Salaried

HOURS: Approximately 15 hours per week to include all day Sunday plus planning and prep time as required. (Hours are flexible except for Sunday)

SALARY: $15,600/year* MATERIALS AND ACTIVITIES BUDGET: Up to $5,000/year

General Purpose of Position:

To build young disciples for Christ by developing and implementing a Children’s Church service and a Youth Ministry Program while serving as a spiritual leader and role model.

Organizational Relationship and Supervision:

The Youth Minister will consult with Pastor Bill Booe for spiritual and ministry guidance and report to the Administrative Board for budget and activity approvals. The Youth Ministry Committee, along with Pastor Bill Booe, will provide a bi-annual evaluation of the Youth Minister’s performance.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Plan, develop, and implement curriculum for a 45-minute Children’s Church Service (ages 3-10) that will be held in conjunction with normal church service from 9-10am each Sunday

• Plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced youth ministry to include Jr. and Sr. High students (ages 11-14 and 15-18 respectively) in the areas of group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. Youth programs will be administered each Sunday. afternoon/evening. Youth Minister will help determine specific time and program structure.

• Recruit and train volunteers to support Children’s Church and Youth Ministry to ensure adequate volunteer support and adult to youth ratios

• Offer support, spiritual guidance, and curriculum to the “Connection” young couple’s fellowship group

• Keep records of youth participation and manage the youth ministry budget

• Communicate in a timely manner and as effectively as possible using all available resources (Facebook, email, website, bulletin boards, etc.)

• Ensure that the “Safe Gatherings” Policy is observed in all youth ministry settings

Personal Qualifications:

• Committed Christian active in a lifestyle of caring and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ

• Ability to invest in and affiliate with our congregation

• Faithful in worship and personal relationship with Jesus Christ

• Student or graduate of a school of ministry or equivalent

• Self-motivated and committed to professional church ministry

• Desire and ability to work as a member of an interdependent professional team

• Supportive of the philosophy of ministry of the congregation and staff

• Ability to relate to youth and gifted in Youth Ministry and Education

• Effective communicator and organizer who can recruit and delegate

• Knowledge of Youth Ministry and Christian Education concepts and methods

• Willing to learn and receive additional training to increase ministerial competence
