Concerns about Maia Espinoza and the German Marshall Fund

[Pages:5]Concerns about Maia Espinoza and the German Marshall Fund

Introduction

Are we seeing the real Maia Espinoza? Or she hiding a globalist agenda? On her website[1], voter's pamphlet[2], and in her interviews[3] she represents herself as a Latino conservative concerned about the poor state of public education in WA state. She founded the "Center for Latino Leadership"[4,5] in 2015. She then was part of the Ethnic and Diversity Student Data task force[6] of the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) in 2017 as ordered by 4SHB 1541[7]. Maia stated that "Our mission is to demystify local politics and raise awareness of how certain issues impact the Latino community of Washington State."[8] She has lamented about the sorry state of education in WA state[9]. We need to examine her background more carefully to answer the 2nd question.

Recruitment by the German Marshall Fund

The German Marshall Fund is a transatlantic transformation agency devoted to raising the next generation of policy makers and leaders. They intend a full transformation of all society[10].

They state their purpose "To make an impact as an elected leader, you must identify local, state and regional resources and leverage them to augment your global engagement strategy."[11]

Maia was sponsored by the German Marshall Fund after being "recruited" by Lora Berg[12], Senior Fellow and Councilor for Inclusive Leadership Programs, to go to the Global TransAtlantic Inclusion Leadership Education Forum in 2019 (TILN[13]). At the forum, future leaders are taught about societal transformation, advancing inclusive policies and strengthening social cohesion.

Maia is currently a "current fellow"[14,15,16,17] of the German Marshall Fund. She has authored[18] for them.

Goals of the Transatlantic Inclusion Leaders Network

There are several concerns about the TILN network and the growing international leadership:

? The TILN network "works with each other to advance inclusive policies and strengthen social cohesion"[19]

? The alumni are trained to advance to positions of high office with a methodology that aims to "advance inclusive policies"[20]

? The goal is ""strengthening leadership skills to support careers in public service and transformative initiatives that will promote more EQUITABLE SOCIETIES...and further the work of multinational inclusion."[21]

? Through TILN, the GMF provides a unique opportunity to meet 21st century leadership

requirements in response to rapid demographic change on both sides of the Atlantic.[22]

Troubling Philosophic Content of the GMF

There is a lot of philosophic content about systemic racism, the "Global Gender Initiative" and George Floyd's death creating a worldwide "movement, not just a moment, to address systemic racism, police violence and secure justice."[GMF President Karen Dornfried 23]

We quote from the GMF Alumni Working Group on Business and Democracy:

Business needs to strongly stand against anti-Black racism, white supremacy, and police brutality. Anti-Black racism is not the only form of racism we must fight against, but is of particular concern because of its historical depth, its systemic nature, and its deadly consequences.[24]

Facing the Tough Questions

We must ask a hard question:

Will Maia promote the global UN view espoused by the GMF or the traditional American view as Superintendent of Public Instruction? Does she knowingly agree with their public statements on social injustice?

There are thorny issues to wrestle with, when considering Maia's candidacy:

? Several twitter tweets shows Maia's involvement with the GMF in 2019.[25,26] ? Maia has only a part time Catholic School Music Teaching credential, what are her

qualifications to handle the superintendent of public instruction responsibilities? ? GMF is partnering with the US State Dept to "unite against bias and discrimination to foster a

truly democratic, inclusive, and free societies", why was Maia picked? ? The GMF is training leadership in civic transformations such as Project Enable [Olga Rujanski,

founder of Project Enable, pinpoints Maia at this presentation in the mayor of Amsterdam's Femke Halsema palatial home, Harengracht Amsterdam 27,28]. Does Maia have civic transformation in mind? ? Maia is unable to explain the content of her education reforms but she has had exposure to the GMF agenda.

Educational Reform ? but whose?

Europeans are pushing a new digital technology: Information and Communications Technology (ICT) and Spatial Technology (augmented reality, mixed reality or virtual classroom)

It must be pointed out that immersing students in a complete virtual world subjects them to a real experience, the human brain perceives the immersion as real, true reality. It must also be pointed out

that recent VR studies[29,30,31,32] have pinpointed possible dangers to children, much is still unknown about those effects, particularly for children.

Virtual curricula and cutting edge technologies to be used in the classroom may sound fantastic and engaging, until one considers the ideals of the Transatlantic Inclusion group and the German Marshall fund and their donors...all the usual bad actors: EU Commission, USAID, Google LLC, Exxon Mobil, JP Morgan Chase and Co., Microsoft Corp., NATO, RAND Corp, SAIC, US Dept HUD, Gilead Sciences, Boeing, and scores of others.[33]

Maia came back and began getting her Masters in Curriculum and Development. She praises the school system of South Korea, Estonia and Netherlands (in an interview with Spokane's We Believe" We vote) [34]. That is questionable, if you look into the abusive rigors for S. Korean pupils - 16 hour day in High School35.

Yet, instead of taking her masters in C&D (she may not have completed it?) she didn't take a Curriculm Director job, but she is a candidate for OSPI superintendent with a platform of making schools"radically different and radically better", because it is so "outdated"[36,37,38].

Looking at the Qualifications

Does she have any experience that actually qualifies her for the massive responsibility of SPI? It is troubling that the GMF does have a radical program for transforming education. Is Maia perhaps thinking of their programs as she pushes education reform?

What is the Truth?

Why did Maia criticize Superintendent Reykdal for a failure for online learning[27] but unable to explain exactly what this online learning actually looks like? Was she perhaps thinking of what she learned at the TILN conferences about online learning (ICT)? Is the GMF going to help her out, in the future?

Has Maia been picked to further these inclusive transatlantic policies of the GMF and its many partners? Will she institute these policies into WA state education? Lora Berg did not contact Maia Espinoza by accident. Maia Espinoza took part in the TILN conferences overseas.

Maia needs to explain what is going on and what her plans really are.
