Certificates equalization section/ issued by international higher education institutions outside UAE

The department received during this period (7049) application of equalizing certificates issued by various institutions around the world and at all academic levels, while the equalization department closed an amount of (7010) application.

During this period the equalization committee held (26) meetings where (2004) decision has been taken, (1535) applications were equalized successfully and (469) applications received apology letter due to the non-applicability to the equalizations standards and conditions.

897 certificates were issued by higher educational institutions based in GCC countries, 2570 certificates were issued by higher educational institutions based in the Arabic countries and 3543 academic certificates issued by international foreign countries.

Department achievements:

The department accomplished may achievements during the period 01 January 2012 till 31st December 2012, some of these achievements are:

1. Developing electronic system to process enquiries about Higher Educational institutes or academic program: The department has developed the project document to develop internal electronic system to organize the services of customer's enquiries about the status of a higher educational institute and enquiries related to academic programs eligibility and accreditation in cooperation with the IT department of the Ministry to deploy the project, he first stage of the project has been accomplished. The department started using the e-system officially since this October.

2. Increase the communication levels with the scholarships entities inside UAE and increase the awareness about the Equalization department through the annual induction forum, meeting & assigning coordinators from these entities to communicate with the department. For the 2nd consecutive year, the department has organized the annual induction forum, and invited the remarkable scholarship entities which opened new communication channels with these entities to promote and increase the awareness of the equalization system including the accredited educational programs.

3. Conducting external meetings with various entities to discuss opportunities for cooperation in the academic arena: The department has conducted many meetings with various official entities to discuss and explore further cooperation opportunities among all parties which resulted in number of recommendations and decisions led to improve communication between governmental entities and improve number of procedures related to certificates equalization. Some of the entities included: Embassy of Italy, Germany, Algeria, Sweden &Turkish embassy in addition to scholarship coordination office, Ministry of Foreign affairs, Abu Dhabi police department and finally Ministry of Education. The department has also conducted meetings with number of universities and educational institutions based outside UAE that would like to be at the list of the universities recommended by the Ministry, the meetings included umber of Arabic and international universities.
