COMMUNITY HOLIDAY YARD DECORATING CONTEST 2020

Show your holiday spirit & light up Taylor Mill by being a part of the Community Holiday Yard Decorating Contest.

Contest Guidelines:

Eligibility: 1) The contest is open to all residents and business owners within Taylor Mill who complete an entry form by December 9th.

Decorations: This contest is for exterior decorations only, and for decorations located on the street side of the participant's property.

Contest Guidelines: ? Entry applications must be received no later than 5pm on Wed., December 9, 2020. ? Contest is for exterior decorations only, including decorations in windows that are visible from the exterior. Judging will be based on "curb appeal" as viewed from the street only. Judges will not enter the property to view back or side yards. ? Participants agree to have one or more photos of their decorated residence exterior posted on the City of Taylor Mill website and Facebook. Participant agrees there will be no compensation of any kind for said posting or publication. ? Decorations for the contest must be available and lit up on December 13th and 14th between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. for judging.

Judging Criteria: The judging criteria will be based on:

? Creativity (originality, unique design and/or use of storyline or theme); ? Lights and Decorations (display and placement); ? Special Effects (sound effects, animation, etc.); ? Overall Appearance (effort & attractiveness).

Judging Period: Judging night will take place on Sunday, December 13th between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Depending on the number of entries, judging may continue from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday 12/14/2020. The Taylor Mill Commission and volunteer judges will meet at the City of Taylor Mill parking lot at 6:00 pm, and enjoy a ride around the neighborhood to see this year's contenders.

Entry Application Period: 11/01/2020 through 12/09/2020 Entry forms must be received no later than 5pm on Wednesday, December 9, 2020.

View and print Decorating Contest Entry Form. Entry is free; no cost or fees apply. Entry forms may be dropped off in-person or mailed to the City Municipal Building (5225 Taylor Mill Road), placed in the tax drop box, or emailed to kwebb@.

Winner Announcement: Winners will be notified by the placement of a yard sign in front of the home by Monday, December 21. Contest winners will also be announced through the City of Taylor Mill website, Facebook, and recognized at the January Commission Meeting on January 13, 2021. Winners will be mailed their prize.

Residents who have gone above and beyond in decorating their residence in an exceptional creative approach will be recognized for their hard work during the City of Taylor Mill Commission Meeting on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

The contest is open to all residents within the City of Taylor Mill. Entry deadline: December 9th at 5:00pm.
