ORANGE JULIUS

• 6 oz. frozen orange juice concentrate

• 1 cup milk

• 1 cup water

• 1/2 cup sugar

• 1 tsp. vanilla extract

• 8-9 ice cubes

1. Combine all ingredients except ice cubes in blender.

2. Blend for about 1-2 minutes, adding ice cubes one at a time

1 large banana

2 handfuls of ripe strawberries

4 heaping Tbs of applesauce

6-10 cubes of ice

Sprig of mint

Add ice and the applesauce first (applesauce provides the liquid necessary in the crushing of the ice). Crush the ice until substance is smoothie-like, and then add the other ingredients.

|1/2 cup non-fat vanilla yogurt |

|1 cup orange juice |

Apple Banana Smoothie

1 frozen banana, peeled and chopped

1/2 cup orange juice

1 Gala apple, peeled, cored and chopped

1/4 cup milk

In a blender combine frozen banana, orange juice, apple and milk. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Banana Orange Smoothie

1/2 cup low fat yogurt

1 banana

1 cup orange juice

1 ice cube

Combine all of the above in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Makes a natural and delicious breakfast or snack.

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

1 banana

1 tablespoon chocolate syrup

1 cup milk

1 cup crushed ice

In a blender, combine banana, chocolate syrup, milk and crushed ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Ruby Smoothie

Yield: 2 cups

1 cup low-fat strawberry yogurt

1/2 cup cranberry juice

1 cup hulled and quartered fresh strawberries, frozen

1 cup fresh raspberries, frozen

Combine the yogurt and cranberry juice in a blender. Add the strawberries and raspberries. Blend until smooth

Strawberry Smoothie

1 cup fresh or frozen strawberries

1 cup milk

1/2 cup vanilla yogurt

4 ice cubes

Put all the ingredients in blender and blend until smooth. Pour into glasses and serve immediately.

Cinnamon Apple Smoothie

1 cup milk

1 cup vanilla yogurt

1 small apple

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Handful of ice cubes

Wash and peel apple. Remove seeds, and cut into cubes. Add all ingredients to blender, and blend for one minute.

Serves 1.

INGREDIENTS

2 ripe bananas, broken into several pieces

1 cup pineapple juice

1/2 cup orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed

1 cup lemon or orange low-fat yogurt or soy yogurt

1. Combine all the ingredients in a food processor or blender and process until smoothly pureed. Or place in a container and process with an immersion blender. Serve at once in tall glasses.

Serves 2 to 3.

Strawberry Delight Smoothie

1 cup milk

1 cup vanilla yogurt

4 large strawberries (or 1 cup frozen strawberries)

1 small banana cut up

Blend for one minute.

Serves 1.
