This will be achieved by delivering a limited number of lectures, acting as a graduate group facilitator, acting as a resource for module leaders and students to provide subject expertise, and contributing to curriculum development, co-ordination, assessment and evaluation of the programme to ensure the programme is academically excellent, coherent and intellectually challenging. It will include committee membership and participation, contributing to the setting and marking of coursework and exams, providing constructive feedback to students and contributing to the development of new learning and teaching approaches.60 %Directly supervise students, providing advice on study skills and helping with learning problems. Identify the learning needs of students and define learning objectives.< 5%Continually update own knowledge and understanding of subject area, incorporating knowledge of advances into own teaching contributions, developing own teaching materials, methods and approaches by obtaining and analysing feedback on own teaching design and delivery. Investigate innovative teaching, learning and assessment methods and techniques in the sector, and pedagogic research generally, bringing new insights to the Academic Unit/Faculty. 20 %Contribute to the efficient management and administration of the Academic Unit and Faculty by performing personal administrative duties as allocated by the Head, e.g. Academic Unit representative on Faculty committees or leading on educational projects/events.5 %To contribute where appropriate, to other areas of teaching within the Faculty either in relation to your subject expertise in undergraduate or postgraduate programmes, or in more generic teaching activities such as acting as a Foundations of Medicine module tutor, SSU facilitator or professionalism tutor. 10 %Any other duties as allocated by the line manager following consultation with the post holder.<5 %Internal and external relationshipsMember of the BM4 Years 1 and 2 Steering Group and BM4 Programme Team Member of other Faculty/University committees relevant to their administrative dutiesLiaise with other teachers, curriculum leaders and administrative staff relevant to role. To be an active and supportive member of the Academic Unit of Medical Education. New appointees will be assigned a senior colleague to guide their development and aid their integration into the Academic Unit and university.
