PowerTeacher Attendance Quick Guide

Overview

Complete the steps below to record attendance, even if all students are present. If the office staff has previously marked an absence reason for a student, you will not be able to change it. If it is incorrect, please notify the office.

Take Attendance

1. Log on to PowerSchool at

___________________________________________.

2. Click the chair icon next to the

class for which you want to

record attendance.

If the chair icon is translucent,

the class does not meet on the

current day.

3. Choose the appropriate

attendance code from the

pop-up menu.

4. Click the field next to the name of

each student who is not present to

enter the selected attendance code.

Change the current attendance code

as necessary to mark both absences

and tardies.

5. Click Submit at the bottom of the

screen. PowerSchool saves the

attendance codes, and the start

page appears.

The green dot that appears next to

the chair icon indicates that

attendance has been submitted.

Other Attendance Options

Click Record MultiMeeting Attendance for Multiple Sections to take attendance for all students in concurrently meeting sections.

Change the date as necessary to record attendance for multiple days. (This feature may not be available to teachers in your district.)

View Reports

Click on Reports in the menu to print a report of all students’ attendance. Select the report and printing options as appropriate. Click Submit to print report. In the Report Queue-My Jobs screen, click refresh until the Completed link appears. Then click the Completed link to view or print the report.

View Individual Student Attendance

1. From the PowerTeacher start page, click on the Backpack icon. [pic]

2. Select the student’s name on the left.

3. From the Select Screens menu, choose Quick Lookup.

4. Period attendance totals will be in the top left.

Scroll down to see student attendance totals in the

Attendance by Day graph at the bottom of the screen.
