KingDate: Dec 2018JOB SUMMARYThe IS Project Management Manager leads a team of IS project managers. The project managers are responsible for the successful delivery of large, complex UW Health initiatives that include a significant amount of IS work. The project managers are also responsible for project management training, coaching and mentoring, and driving improvement in IS project management processes, standards and execution. The IS Project Management Manager supports the team in achieving these results. Where applicable, the IS Project Management Manager serves as program or project manager for assigned initiatives.The IS Project Management Manager is responsible for developing the skills and competencies of team members. The IS Project Management Manager is a leader within UW Health IS and across the UW Health system, working with colleagues to drive system wide improvement in project management. He/she ensures the continuous improvement of IS Service Delivery metrics including one-time completion of milestones and projects.The IS Project Management Manager sets a high standard for accountability, leads by example and consistently demonstrates project management best practices. The IS Project Management Manager focuses on outcomes and results, while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIESLead The TeamImplement programs to develop the skills and competencies of team members, ensuring continuous improvement.Support team members in successful delivery of their assigned initiatives.Develop and implement consistent processes within the team and across UW Health IS including estimation, change control (scope, timing, resources), risk and issue management, effective status reporting and escalation, and effective coordination with colleagues leading related initiatives.Project DeliveryServe as project and/or program manager for assigned initiatives, workstreams and projects. Manage multiple areas within the initiative including business process redesign, technical, organizational change management, communication, training, legal/agreements, and evaluation of project outcomes.Develop and maintain strong, trusted-advisor relationships with senior leaders across UW Health, Quartz, SMPH and our partners.Act as liaison between various areas and departments on a given project, ensuring effective integration and communication.Ensure that best practices are being consistently used for assigned initiatives including estimation, change control, proactive risk management, issue tracking, and status reporting.Facilitate workgroups related to assigned initiatives, workstreams and projects.Improve Project Management Processes, Standards and ExecutionServe as a thought leader and subject matter expert on project portfolio management (PPM) within the UW Health system. Collaborate with colleagues to lead the development of standards, tools and methods.Serve as a project management coach, advisor and mentor for an assigned set of teams in UW Health IS. Grow the community of UW Health IS colleagues who are effective project managers.Lead the development of IS project management quality assurance processes.Lead the development and delivery of project management training.Lead development of IS Service Delivery metrics, including on-time completion of projects and milestones. Ensure continuous monitoring and improvement of metrics.Effective Team MemberCollaborate with IS leader colleagues to drive continuous improvement within UW Health IS.Lead improvement initiatives for UW Health IS and across the UW Health system.Consistently demonstrate a very high level of teamwork, partnership and collaboration.
