Purpose of the Role:

Working as part of the Asia Hub team the jobholder will have specific responsibility for travel trade and e-marketing activities in the region. Working with the GSAs and Marketing Manager to maximise the potential of the travel trade, and online marketing activities in China, India, GCC and South Africa, to increase the delivery of KPI targets, in-line with the agreed corporate strategy for the region.

Note: This role will involve some travel and work outside normal business hours. The post holder will also be expected to represent Tourism Ireland at a range of events.

1. Liaise with the GSAs to plan and develop sales missions and other in-market events throughout the year.

2. Planning and coordination of Country Club membership activities. Working with the GSAs to ensure delivery of successful events which add value to attendees as well as raise the profile of the island of Ireland in the market.

3. Working with the GSAs to develop trade relationships in line with their TAMS matrix.

4. Site-management of in China, India, GCC and South Africa. Working with the GSAs to continuously improve, update and develop these websites in line with brand guidelines, new technologies and consumer tastes, ensuring that relevant centrally generated content, events, campaigns, in-market promotions, Country Club details, opportunities, offers and links to affiliate websites are optimised and up-to-date.

5. Acting as a center of excellence in e-marketing for the Middle East and Asian markets and as the internet champion for the region. Monitoring and tracking competitor and market activities and developments in this field, sharing best practice with colleagues and other stakeholders.

6. Assisting the GSAs with their e-marketing campaigns. Monitoring and reporting on e-marketing activities, tracking results and ROI to establish performance against agreed targets and measures and providing analysis and recommendations based on these results for future campaigns and activities. Ensure GSAs are trained to deliver and comply with Tourism Ireland’s systems and processes.

7. Working with the GSAs to develop and send e-zines and eDMs on a regular basis.

8. Managing the GSAs to ensure they maintain and maximise their consumer database and engagement to optimise consumer segmentation, profiling, data-mining and retention, ensuring data capture in line with data protection policies.

9. Working with the GSAs to co-ordinate and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of monthly and quarterly reports (e.g. SOAR, KPIs), ensuring accuracy of data inputs with insightful analysis and recommendations to address performance issues and successes.

10. Ensuring the timely uploading of all Middle East and Asia marketing activity details, creative assets and campaign results onto Tourism Ireland’s internal reporting systems, MAPS and TAMS.

11. Ensuring effective budget management, control and reporting of allocated resources in-line with company policies and procedures.

12. Ensuring compliance with all data protection and competition legislation in the markets.

13. Such other duties as Tourism Ireland may from time to time reasonably require including assisting with the organization of events and receptions and providing support to other teams and staff within the Asia Hub and ADM team.

Essential

▪ Proven organisational and administration skills with strong project management capabilities including the ability to deliver on time and within budget.

▪ Creative thinking in respect of marketing initiatives, involving the planning and logistics of initiatives as well as the design.

▪ Relevant e-marketing, website, CEM, database management and social media experience.

▪ Technical knowledge and experience using website, e-mailing and CMS programmes and analysis tools such as Sitecore, Apex, Click Dimensions, Google Analytics, Mail Chimp.

▪ Inquisitive and investigate nature, a self-starter, with the ability to work alone and with other people. Able to motivate-self and other teams, working in conjunction with a variety of different teams, with a proven ability to manage effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

▪ Strong analytical skills to enable analysis and interpretation of performance and ability to recommend and advance e-marketing activities.

▪ Editorial skills in writing for the web.

▪ Fluency in written and spoken English.

▪ Good team player, who is flexible, with a positive attitude to change, dealing with competing demands and a can-do attitude.

▪ Ability to work sensitively and successfully in cross-cultural environments.

▪ Open to giving and receiving constructive feedback from colleagues, line manager and others as appropriate.

Desirable

▪ Third level qualification in business, marketing or other relevant discipline.

▪ Budget management experience and demonstrable attention to detail.

▪ Knowledge of Middle East & Asia, its geography and customs.

▪ Knowledge of the island of Ireland and its tourism product.

▪ Knowledge of HTML and Photoshop would be an advantage.
