The Organization The Corporation for Supportive Housing (CSH) is a national nonprofit organization that helps communities create permanent housing with services to prevent and end homelessness. CSH advances its mission by providing high-quality advice and development expertise, by making loans and grants to supportive housing sponsors, by strengthening the supportive housing industry, and by reforming public policy to make it easier to create and operate supportive housing.

CSH delivers its core services primarily through staff stationed in 15 states (Arizona, California, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, and Washington) and the District of Columbia. CSH also reaches many other communities that request assistance from its National Program staff.

Consulting & Training (C&T) CSH Consulting & Training is responsible for securing and staffing fee-for-service contracts across the country. C&T works with local and national teams to develop policies and programs to help end homelessness in communities through systems change and capacity building. We also work closely with government and the non-profit sector to ensure creation of quality supportive housing. The C&T team provides individualized training and technical assistance to communities and providers and through the national HUD TA contract. Internally, we collaborate closely with executive staff, national offices and regional teams. We take this collaborative spirit to our external partners as well.

Current projects for the C&T team include but are not limited to HUD Technical Assistance; Ten Year planning and systems change work in a variety of urban, suburban and rural communities; HEARTH policy work; Supportive Housing Institutes and Academies; Dimensions of Quality training; one through direct technical assistance and training; other 1-day trainings; and other technical assistance projects.

Job Description CSH is seeking to fill one position with the Consulting & Training Team. Ideal candidates will be responsible for assuring that we deliver creative and effective materials, and that we have efficient procedures, high quality products and assets. CSH seeks professionals who understanding the nature of working with fee for service contracts and managing workloads and project deliverables within a specified time frame. CSH seeks professionals with strong skills in project management, which is the approach CSH takes to achieve its goals.

The Consulting and Training team is supported by contracts with external agencies and organizations. This position is a 12 month contract position and is renewable pending CSH's ability to secure new contracts and/or grant support. Depending on experience and expertise, CSH may hire the positions at the Senior Program Manager level. The staff person can be located in any of our program offices or may work at home.

Under the direction of the C&T Director, the Program Manager will have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities Work primarily as a member of our HUD Technical Assistance team on CSH's current HUD Homeless TA and HMIS TA award. Work includes community technical assistance (remote and in-person); trainings and/or webinars; and written products. Serve as project manager on designated contracts and/or grants, ensuring clearly defined team roles, on time and onbudget deliverables, and delivery of quality products. CSH expects project managers to foster a work environment based on quality teamwork, mutual accountability, and high quality performance.

Participate on and contribute to project teams as assigned. Tasks may include the coordination of and participation in technical assistance visits; drafting reports, policy guidance, and other documents and resources; and training design, development, delivery, and evaluation ? as well as supporting staff engaged in such activities. Assist the Director and team in planning and developing strategies for refining, targeting, or expanding current consulting opportunities. Assist the Director and CSH staff in scoping contracts, writing proposals, refining and packing products, and managing contracts as requested. Participate in all C&T team activities including staff meetings, work planning, business development, and marketing. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications The successful candidate will be adaptable, entrepreneurial, creative, flexible, and a problem solver. Her/his work will be driven by strategic thinking and executed with creativity and efficiency. S/he will have a sense of humor, patience, and a commitment to treating others with respect.

Specific skills and experience include: Previous experience in the field of supportive housing and/or homelessness and delivering technical assistance. Previous project management experience with demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage project budgets and deadlines. Proven ability to work with colleagues and external audiences and partners in the areas of public policy, systems change, housing development/operations, and/or the delivery of supportive services. Ability to work well independently and within a multi-disciplinary team environment, manage multiple projects and priorities, and working cooperatively to meet internal and external requests. Knowledge of HUD homeless and/or CPD programs, HMIS, or NSP desired. Strong analytical, interpersonal, presentation, and written and verbal communications skills. Ability to communicate clearly and simply, coupled with a strong creative sensibility and ability to think strategically. Ability to take initiative and pursue goals with minimal supervision. Comfort with working on a team that is "virtual" and does most of its work via telephone and email. Passion for the CSH mission and possess the leadership and management skills necessary to advance and realize CSH's vision and further enhance the organization's reputation in communities that it serves. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook. Sound business ethics, including the protection of proprietary information. Willing and able to travel at least 30-50% of the month, although travel schedule will vary based on assignments. Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree a plus. Equivalent experience may substitute for education.
