VOTE OF APPRECIATION

TO THE PEOPLE AND GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED MEXICAN STATES

(Adopted at the closing session, held September 27, 2005

subject to revision by the Style Committee)

THE XIV INTER-AMERICAN CONFERENCE OF MINISTERS OF LABOR,

CONSIDERING:

That the hospitality of the people and Government of the United Mexican States made it possible to hold the XIV Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor of the Organization of American States in Mexico City, Mexico, on September 26 and 27, 2005; and

That during the Conference the Ministers and delegations were afforded many opportunities to engage in consultations and fruitful dialogue which enabled the adoption of a Declaration and its corresponding Plan of Action on labor matters of importance to the Hemisphere,

RESOLVES:

1. To express its appreciation to the people and Government of the United Mexican States for their warm and generous hospitality and for their contribution to the successful outcome of the XIV Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor.

2. To express its appreciation to the Chairman of the Conference, the Secretary of Labor and Social Welfare of Mexico, Francisco Salazar, and to the staff of the Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare who contributed with great efficiency, dedication, and professionalism to the success of the XIV Inter-American Conference of Ministers of Labor.
