[Pages:2]REQUIREMENTS FOR COUGAR DAYS

UPSD is pleased to share that it will continue district-wide online updates for Student Demographic and Emergency Information for the 2019 ? 2020 school year. By completing this online process, you will ensure that your child's school has accurate contact information and emergency procedures on file. Additionally, you will be able help your student prepare for the upcoming year by paying fines and fees, purchasing school-related items, registering for athletics, adding money to lunch accounts, and/or applying for free or reduced-priced meals.

Parents or Guardians are REQUIRED to complete the following items prior to Cougar Days: 1. Update and print the Student Demographic and Emergency Information using the online process described below, AND 2. Complete and sign a green Student Medical Alert Form o The Student Medical Alert Form, printed on green paper, is included in this mailing. It must be updated and signed prior to the start of each new school year.

Please note: Students and their families will be required to submit both the confirmation of the Student Demographic & Emergency Information and Student Medical Alert Form at Cougar Days. Without these forms, students will not be permitted to pick up their 2019 ? 2020 unofficial class schedules at Cougar Days.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE INTERNET ACCESS, computers are available at the UPSD District Office and the University Place Library. Parents will also be able to use the online system for updates at Cougar Days. Changes can only be made through Parent/Guardian Family Access accounts, and for this reason, parent/guardian passwords should be kept secure. Students have been provided with their own login and passwords to Family Access for the purpose of checking grades and attendance only. Student passwords will not access Student Demographic & Emergency Information. If you do not already know your Family Access login or password, please contact the Curtis Junior High main office at (253) 5665670. The office will be open from 7:00 to 3:30 on August 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 19th through 22nd, and 26th through 29th.

ONLINE PURCHASE INFORMATION

During the school year, we encourage families to use our online payment systems to purchase items and pay fines. Parents and/or guardians can access our online system at and select the "Student Purchases, Fees and Fines" Quick Link on the left side of the screen. It is important to note that we have two separate systems for online payments. One is for lunch accounts within Skyward Family Access, and the other is for other purchases and payments through Touchbase. Both systems use the same login and password.*

Student Fees, Fines and Purchases (Touchbase): To purchase items such as ASB cards, yearbooks, class fees, field trips, and other items, login as follows:

1. Go to and select the "Student Purchases, Fees and Fines" Quick Link on the bottom right side of your screen.

2. Beneath "Step by Step Instructions for Touchbase," select the hyperlink for "Touchbase." 3. Enter your login and password. Like last year, your Family Access login and password is used for

Touchbase. * 4. Click on your student's name. Review the menu on the right of your screen to purchase items in

our store, pay fines, view receipts, or review athletic and activity information. To purchase items for other students in your family, select "Your Family" on the top of the screen. Select the next student and continue. Select "Checkout" when you are finished and follow the prompts.

A small convenience fee is charged for each purchase from the online store. These fees start at $1.50 and increase based on a percentage of the total purchase. Customers can view all fees before final checkout. Once the transaction is complete, the purchase(s) will immediately show on the student's account.

If fines or fees are already owed on the account, you will see a red message once you have selected your student's name. For more information, select "Unpaid Fines/Fees." Students with fines may not be able to purchase some items online until the fees are paid, and these items will not be visible on the product list.

* PLEASE NOTE: Login Information: Logins always includes the first five (5) letters of the guardian's last name, the first three (3) letters of the guardian's first name, and three (3) numeric characters. If the guardian's last name is less than five (5) characters, you must add the adequate number of spaces to make five (5) characters. Login Information for Student Fees and Fines: Like last year, logins and passwords for Touchbase are the same as those used for Skyward Family Access. DO NOTE: if you have changed your password in Family Access, the update in Touchbase will take one overnight cycle.

If you need assistance while using our online system to purchase items, pay fines/fees, or review receipts, please contact the Curtis Junior High School main office at (253) 566-5670. The office will be open from 7:00 to 3:30 on

August 1st, 6th, 8th, 13th, 15th, 19th through 22nd, and 26th through 29th.
