GENERAL INFORMATION

HIGHLIGHTS IN 2008!

The 2008 show is shaping up to be very exciting! With the show celebrating its 50th anniversary, we have many great things planned that we think will not only enhance the experience for our attendees but also launch the success for the show and our exhibitors! Look at some of the highlights and take advantage of these great opportunities!

NEW SHOW HOURS FOR SATURDAYS

After review of both 2007 consumer and exhibitor surveys, the show hours were discussed at the August Show Committee Meeting and it was decided that Sunday and weekday hours would remain the same. However, Saturday hours will be changing for the 2008 show. Saturday hours will be published as 10:00am – 7:00pm; however, doors will actually open at 9:30am in order to clear the galleria lobby of long line-ups. All exhibitors are to be in their booth ready for business at 9:30am on both Saturdays.

The published 2008 show hours are as follows:

Preview Night (Friday, January 11th) 4:00pm - 9:00pm

Saturdays: 10:00am - 7:00pm * (doors open at 9:30am)

Sundays: 10:00am - 6:00pm

Weekdays: 12:00noon - 9:00pm

LARGEST INDOOR LAKE FOR BOATERS

WELCOMES WATER ACTIVITIES

As part of the 50th Anniversary celebration, the 2008 show will welcome a major transformation in the Lake. No longer will the atmosphere be of an indoor marina but more of the fun and excitement of what you can DO on the water. The Lake will host a variety of on-the-water activities; showcasing wakeboarding, fishing, sailing, personal watercraft, kayaking, canoeing, boat handling demonstrations and more.

The Lake agenda will consist of events that will entertain, educate and invite the consumer to get active and get boating!

Plans are well underway to make this one of the feature highlights of the show. If you want to be involved, this is the time to let us know - contact chare@ or 905 951-0009.

INSURANCE CERTIFICATES

Neither NMMA Canada, The Toronto International Boat Show, Exhibition Place nor any show contractor can be responsible for the loss or damage to any property of the exhibitor before, during or after the show, including theft. As per previous years, the back of exhibitor contracts state that exhibitor’s are required to have a Commercial General Liability Insurance Policy with a per occurrence limit of not less than $1,000,000. The National Marine Manufacturers Association and the Direct Energy Centre must be listed as additional insureds and a copy of this insurance certificate must be received by show management prior to move-in.

All exhibitors are required to forward a copy of their insurance certificate to NMMA prior to move-in (fax # 905-951-0018) and also have a copy of their insurance certificate in their own possession on-site.

INDUSTRY BREAKFAST

Join your colleagues over a hot buffet breakfast on Tuesday, January 15th from 9:00am – 11:30am at the Direct Energy Centre (East Galleria Lobby - outside Hall D). This “must attend” event will include the presentation of Canada’s Boating Hall of Fame Awards and a rejuvenating keynote appearance from Vince Morvillo, “Can You See What I See?”. An unsighted entrepreneur and award-winning yachtsman, Vince Morvillo affirms the fact that anything is possible – that “what you believe is what you achieve”. He combines real-life experiences, humour and inspiring lessons to advocate that it’s not sight that builds successful companies, or enables you to succeed, compete and win; it’s vision and preparation. It is an inspiration not to be missed!

Tickets can be purchased by completing the attached Order Form, in the Order Forms section of the kit, or by calling (905) 951-0009. Advance ticket prices are $25 per person – tickets purchased after December 14, 2007, will be $30 per person.

CANADA’S HALL OF FAME AWARDS

Similar to last year, Canada’s Boating Hall of Fame Awards will be presented during the Industry Breakfast. We encourage everyone to attend and support the individuals being recognized for their leadership and commitment to the Canadian recreational boating industry. For requirements and a nomination form, go to the Exhibitor’s Centre of , or one can be faxed to you. Nominations are being accepted until November 16th.

SHOW “SPECIALS”

We want to remind attendees that the Toronto International Boat Show is the “boat and accessories sale” of the year – there are fantastic prices and great deals that are only available when you shop at the show.

To help promote exclusive “Toronto Boat Show deals”, we will provide “Boat Show Special” signage to all exhibitors who feature prices that can only be found at the show, January 11-20, 2008. All exhibitors participating will receive the exact same signage which will be promoted to the public so they know what to look for in your booth. See the attached information and application form to participate. All submissions will be accepted on an honorary basis - exhibitors found selling product at the “boat show” price before or after the show dates will not be able to participate in this promotional opportunity in following years.

BUY A BOAT PROMOTION

We all know the “Toronto Boat Show is the best place to see a boat and the best place to buy one”. Returning for the fifth year, the Buy-A-Boat Promotion is an additional incentive to your customers that when they buy a boat at the show they leave a winner!

Every customer that buys a boat (large or small) at the 2008 Toronto Boat Show receives a free gift and is eligible to win $10,000 towards the purchase of their boat! To receive their free gift, your customer simply brings proof of purchase to the Show Office (Salon 103) and they are automatically entered into the $10,000 draw taking place on the last day of the show.

Every sales person that sells a boat at the show will be eligible for a daily draw of $200.00 cash! For every proof of purchase your customers bring to the Show Office, your name will also be entered for a chance to win. The $200.00 daily draw will take place at the close of the show every day and will be announced in the daily Exhibitor Newsletter the following morning.
