May 28, 2014To: 4-H Shooting Sports Coordinators, Instructors & MembersRe: Randolph County 4-H Shooting Sports Extravaganza - Saturday, June 28, 2014The Randolph County 4-H Shooting Sports Club would like to invite you and all of your 4-H Shooting Sports participants to attend the 23rd annual 4-H Shooting Sports Extravaganza. The event will be held Saturday, June 28, 2014 at the Farmland Conservation Club. The Club is a 238 acre facility located between Farmland and Winchester, 1 1/4 miles North of State Road 32 on County Road 500 West. The address is 1464 N 500 W, Winchester, IN 47394. The facility includes a 20 target walk-through archery range, approved rifle range capable of handling rifle, pistol, shotgun and muzzleloader disciplines as well as a clubhouse. This past winter the Farmland Conservation Club pond experienced a large fish kill. As a result we have removed fishing from the schedule of events for this year. If you choose to fish during your meal/free time, all fish must be released back into the pond. The objective of the Extravaganza is to benefit the 4-H members involved and provide a positive atmosphere in which to have fun and possibly try a new activity. The Randolph County 4-H Shooting Sports Club encourages the use of standard equipment and a low key, friendly competition among all participants. The Randolph County Extravaganza includes a round robin of Archery, Muzzleloader, Rifle, Shotgun and Pistols. A schedule of the events and descriptions are included. Awards will be presented to youth participants in each of the disciplines listed and broken down by age groups: 13 years and younger, 14 years and older. Leaders and youth participants are to bring along their county's or own equipment (firearms, ammo, bows, arrows, eye protection, etc.) and each county attending is asked to bring 2 boxes of twenty or twelve gauge shotgun shells and a box of .22 lr. Pyrodex for black powder and ear protection will be provided. Participants using anything else must supply your own. PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING YOU BRING WITH YOUR NAME AND COUNTY. The Instructors reserve the right to refuse the use of any equipment that is found to be unsafe. The registration fee for all participants will be $15.00 each, non refundable. The fee will include 2 meals, awards, ammo (as mentioned earlier), ear protection and insurance. Certified Instructors and other adults who actively assist with the event will have their meals provided. Parents and non-shooting-sports guests may purchase meals for $10 (This includes lunch and dinner). A reservation form has been enclosed, and must be turned in by June 20th. If you are bringing a group of 4-H’ers, a registration form has also been enclosed. Please duplicate the forms as needed. Registration fees should be paid by check and all checks should be made payable to: Randolph County 4-H Shooting Sports. The registration fee must accompany each registration in order to be accepted and should be mailed directly to the Randolph County Extension Office at 1885 S. US Hwy 27, Winchester, IN 47394.Due to the increasing numbers of participants, we are limiting the number of registrants to one hundred twenty (120).
