A ‘BUCKET LIST’ POSSIBILITY

by

Barb Hansen

Can we talk just a bit about your personal “Bucket List”? Seems to me that most everyone has a list of things they want to do at some time during their life.

If you’re a power or sail cruiser or want to be one, please listen up, I’ve got some important news for you. We have a problem of sorts at Southwest Florida Yachts. It’s actually a “good” problem. What’s happened is that demand is exceeding supply for our charter fleet. We need more power and sail cruisers.

There are many contributing factors for this challenge. COVID-19 has reduced the number of charter customers we have from distant places that require flights to our area, but locals (broadly defined as anyone within driving distance in the southeast U.S.), have filled that void. They have actually exceeded it. Add to that word of mouth from veteran and first time cruisers about the benefits of cruising in this part of the world and you’ve got what I believe are the key reasons our demand is off the charts.

So, if you own a cruiser from 30 to 60 feet or want to buy one and have it become part of our fleet, please let me know. I can and would love to help address that bucket list item.

Yes, we operate a business, but my husband Vic and I started out boating for pleasure. We are sailors, cruisers, Captains, charterers and boat owners ourselves. This enables us to understand the charter business from all sides, not just the side of the charter company.

We know what charterers appreciate in a yacht; we know what an owner needs to protect their investment and we know that quality in every aspect of our service is of prime importance.

One size does not fit all when it comes to charter programs. We develop customized programs to fit the participants in our yacht charter program. If that means buying a cruiser or selling one and buying another, we can help with each step in the process.

But first, visit our website () and take a look at the information regarding our charter operation, what it entails, how it benefits the boat owner and much more.

If you’d like to take the next step, come and visit us and our operation. See how we maintain our fleet and meet all of the members of our team.

While we are always interested in adding new power and sail cruisers to our fleet, we are particularly anxious to do so at this time. If owning a cruiser is on your bucket list, let’s talk. Adding your power or sail craft to our charter fleet might make it that much easier to cross boat ownership off your bucket list!
