What is the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception?

Answer can be found inside this bulletin.

You may have recently noticed some construction equipment on the north side of the office, and it is there because the parish office roof is being repaired. The roof was in fairly good condition during the office renovation a few years ago, so it was left untouched at that time. Now it has gotten to the point that repairs have become necessary. At this time the roof is leaking and the gutters need replacing. The repairs are already paid for, thanks to some remaining funds from a legacy gift from Marian Steinbach (deceased) and a donation from Arte Devine and Ken and Marilyn Keller. We also want to thank our Avenue B neighbors for their patience during this project!

What is the doctrine of the Immaculate Conception?

ANSWER: Pope Pius IX in 1854, Ineffabilis Deus: "The most Blessed Virgin Mary was, from the first moment of her conception, by a singular grace and privilege of almighty God and by virtue of the merits of Jesus Christ, Savior of the human race, preserved immune from all stain of original sin."
