An article from People Magazine published about two weeks after Fossey's mysterious murder, this piece also helps explain Fossey's temperament and often "odd" behavior observed by other researchers working with her. Although unconventional and perhaps questionable, Fossey's behavior obviously worked to make the gorilla's case a national cause

An article written in 1960 on the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its current state of Civil War. Fossey was forced to abandon her research during this time, an important note in her bibliography. It was sad to leave her gorillas, but this caused Fossey to relocate Virguna National Park, which would lead to the growth of her research work into conservation work.

Fossey's own book about her experiences with the mountain gorillas in Africa. It provides her own perspective on everything she did during her time in Africa. Fossey talks about issues such as tourism, poaching, and political conflict in her own words as the world watches what she does, sometimes criticizing and sometimes praising her.

Originally published in the January 1970 issue of National Geographic, this document provides a firsthand account through Fossey's own eyes as she studies the mountain gorillas in Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. This collection shows how important the gorillas really were to Fossey, how much they meant to her, and why she was willing to do anything for them, including, eventually, to give up her own life.

A 1985 newspaper article talking about Dian Fossey's research and fight against poachers in Rwanda. It seems to show Fossey in almost a negative light and explains how she uses very unconventional conservation methods. It was interesting to see Fosseydfrom different viewpoints and figure out what the rest of the world really thought about her.

A Los Angeles Times article published when Wayne McGuire, a graduate student of Fossey herself, was charged guilty with her murder. Her true murderer was never convicted but this article gives a primary source to one of the many theories. Fossey's murder was not an end for the gorillas, but a new beginning and a new step in the efforts of their conservation and protection.

An episode of Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom, it explored the animals of the African Wild in 1963. This film also contains substantial footage of Fossey herself researching, interacting with the gorillas, and cutting down traps. I used clips of this episode in my website as well as watching the episode to gain a better understanding of Fossey at work.

Perkins, Marlin, dir. "Reunion with the Gorillas." Perf. Dian Fossey. Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Wild Kingdom TV: 1984. Television. .

A TV program aired in 1984 following Dian Fossey "into the forest" with the gorillas. When they came to film the show, they also supplied Fossey and her crew with numerous essential "gifts" such as a generator, a refridgerator, food, clothing, and equipment. I used a clip of this video directly in my website in order to show Fossey at work in her research.

A newspaper article published in 1981 which compares and contrasts the three "Leakey's

Angels:" Fossey, Goodall, and Galdikas. This article compares and contrasts each woman's conservation and research method. Although they have different personalities, different interests, and different research methods, these three women all have the same goal in mind: to protect the species which they love.

An interview with Dian Fossey on her work in the Congo. This interview also gives and insight into how Fossey reacts with other people in public. Fossey was very standoffish to people she did not know because everyone was seen as a threat to the gorillas.

An article from the Los Angeles Times in 1985 when Fossey was first found slain at her camp. The murder is unexpected and this article helped me to write her biography. Fossey's murder was especially interesting because the was macheted across the face, which usually is the sign of an emotional killing, meaning the murderer was intentionally killing her out of their own feelings.

A short video with a gorilla tracker who worked on site with Fossey, he talks about his experiences removing snares and saving animals from poacher traps. Francois is explaining his experience of Fossey's active conservation. Francois continues to work today to improve the gorillas' habitat and has forever been touched by Fossey's passion and dedication.
