Attendance, Tardiness, Make-up Work, Record-keeping

Class attendance is extremely important aspect of this course and is part of your grade. If a student has an unexcused absence on the day of a recorded grade, that student will receive a zero for his/her failure to perform the specific assignment / task. Deadlines on homework, classwork, and textbook assignments are rarely extended. (A copy of a medical doctor’s note must be provided to the instructor as well as to the front office for any and all deadline extensions.)

Absences are subject to school attendance policies. If you are tardy, get a tardy pass from the attendance office before entering the classroom. If door is closed it is already too late. Do not enter unless you have already gone to get a tardy pass and are ready to enter the classroom. When entering, do not disturb classroom instruction, sign in on the tardy log, and leave the pass in the binder. If you forget to sign the log the attendance record will show you absent for the day. Do not show up late with food from the store. You will be sent to the office with a discipline referral.

Safety and Academic Honesty Policy:

If a student fails to follow the Auto /Technology rules every day the student will be referred to their Administrator. Instructor will schedule a meeting with the student, administrator, parent/guardian, and the coordinator of the Auto Tech Program. Students must strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations in order to work in the Auto Shop area. If a student breaks their signed safety contract the student could be permanently removed from the program.
