The Scottish Rite Creed of Freemasonry-

Human progress is our cause, liberty of thought our supreme wish, freedom of conscience our mission, and the guarantee of equal rights to all people everywhere our ultimate goal.

Happy New Year Brethren,

The Installation of Officer’s was held on December 12th. Ill. George Rieck, 33o, performed admirably as the Installing Officer as did his crack support team. A very special thank you goes to the ladies that attended the installation. Our ambition to become better men is a direct result of our feeling their love and support.

For those who did not attend, you missed a memorable evening of entertainment and surprise.

The Candle shines brightly for the future of Scottish Rite in the Valley of Kennewick.

The year to come involves Education. I can’t speak for the rest of you, but to receive additional Masonic education is the reason I joined Scottish Rite, the college of Masonry.

At the installation I sang of peace and brotherhood, and spoke of our obligations.

A mans first steps into the sanctuary of Scottish Rite are duty… reflection … and study.

The 4th degree teaches that learning far outlasts physical monuments and that our duties are not to be performed expecting reward but rather with the expectation of personal satisfaction.

We’ve recently been blessed by receiving additional applications for membership. We will vote on these applications during the Stated Meeting on January 9th.

Our plan is to give these newbees the degrees on Saturday, the 20th, and to have them join the other initiates of the Ron Brodzinski Class and graduate one of the largest classes in history. BUT, WE NEED YOUR HELP. Plan on showing up on the 20th to help out and support this effort. We’ll have donuts and coffee (7:30 am) and a lunch between the 14th and 18th degree.

At the stated meetings during the year we will review a degree. If you have an interest in assisting with this education, I would be thrilled and delighted to have your assistance.

I WANT YOU [pic] TO GET INVOLVED. All this is a part of the plan. You know the plan … It involves Education, Developing a Positive Image of SR & Freemasonry, Supporting Rite Care and other philanthropic activities, it also involves Leadership, and having a Financial Plan for the future wellbeing of our Valley. No, I don’t want to say LRP.

Can you identify this symbol???? [pic]Your presence is hereby requested at the stated meeting to be held on January 9th to inform the Venerable Master to which Degree the above symbol is associated with. What is the degree of angle on the symbol? Can you also describe the apron of the degree? Better drag out that “Bridge” book and start reading.

With Fraternal Love and Affection,

Jim Chase, Venerable Master
